Personally i dont rate the fella, and the fact that scholes has come out of retirement due to Manchester United's lack of strength in Midfield rather than use Gibson, its not a great indicator.

In addition to this i think it will only push Barkley further away from the starting 11.

However if we do buy him, then ill get behind him like every other player.

Isn't he a bit more direct than what we have and can give a bit of bite in m/f? That's the impression I get, although I cant honestly say I've studied his game too closely.

And if he is on his way, I seriously doubt we're paying. This would, IMO, be a downpayment for a future Rodwell/Barkley deal.

Unfortunately these are my thoughts on this too. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rodwell left this January or in the Summer.

I suppose this is who Bill meant as a lined up replacement at the end of the last transfer window seeing as he's cheap and has been in the shop window for a while.

Completely agree Dave. He might make a forward pass or two, which would be nice. Anyone noticed how we only ever pass sideways then hope one of the fullbacks puts it on a strikers head? Would be nice to play for a change.

Let's be honest, we are all trying to polish a turd here. It's the most underwhelming signing I can think of, especially given Barkley is ten times the player and is sitting in the reserves.
