These players have gotten their own way far to much. Being allowed to drive out of Goodison will get your car legged, Dyce will have them all going back to Finch Farm on the team bus as it should be.

There are two schools of thought, aren’t there? Two ways to get respect.

You make the players like you, or you make the players fear you.

The ideal is the third way, a bit of both.

Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding, but he’s got a tightrope to walk here if he’s going to bring the squad with him and get them performing for him.

Yeah, and that worked superbly for Clough in the 70s. Not so much by the 90s… and even that was a generation ago.
