Gordon never wanted to play for us again and we had a team willing to pay comfortably double what he's worth if not more. Absolute no brainer to flog. As for nothing being lined up, this whole window has been a comedy of errors indicating that the board want us to look in any direction other than that in which we can see they have zero intention of signing anyone for actual money.
We withheld appointing Dyche for a good couple of days to eat away most of what was left of the window, then we put in the good ol' doomed-to-fail bid for Gallagher to "prove" we have cash to spend. Now we'll finish on the reliable, old "we couldn't get quite the deals over the line" manoeuvre.
I don't know if our accounts are more of a mess than anyone knows, or whether we're legitimately skint (would be my guess, given Moshiri openly courting investors), but there's defo more to this than meets the eye.
I've said it a million times already, but we need to accept relegation. With Dyche at least we may bloody a few noses on the way down, but that's pretty much the best we can hope for.
Apparently the club are very interested in the pint of milk and are mulling over putting a hard bid into Morrisons but are also exploring possible loan options with a commitment to buy from Asda.
Whereas They’re queuing up to play for league one runner up and 3 time league two manager of the month Nathan Jones . Are we thinking sulemana watched a lot of Jones when he was playing at Southend ?
Everton Football Club - the absolute laughing stock of European & World Football bar none.
Said it before and will say it again, we are not spending or loaning.
I have resigned myself to the fact that we are going down and so has the board.
Gordons money has already been squirrelled away, would love to be wrong but heyho.
Anyone snapped up Zaniolo yet ?
That is probably a big part of it, yes. As much as this is really depressing, I suspect there are a lot of teams out there making mistakes we’ve already made.Nobody wants to sign for us... why is that exactly? Are we not willing to pay the wages we've paid in the past?
How can a board member with less than 2% shares be involved in such authority at our club in Bill Kenwrong?….this is what we get for shining a light on BK and the Board, this is what we get for making folk in the outside world aware of the mess they have got this club in.
But you heard Farhad in that FAB video, Thelwell identifies the targets then it has to be signed off by Kenwright who then asks Moshiri for the money. I agree it's an utterly ridiculous process, far too time consuming. It should be Thelwell with a budget doing the deals.Because we've been slow and inactive. Slow in backing or sacking the manager, and not getting in targets.
Regardless of management...the DoF should still sign players. Brighton and Wolves do this.
Our inactivity has caused the shortlists to get shorter, the laboured approach to it has caused players/agents to make decisions.
These targets have been available before the window even opened. Yet we sit on deadline day and are surprised we're getting gazumped.
Or more likely they actually made an offer to the club , then a substantial offer to the player and his people . Us on the other hand were probably mulling over our next move and exploring our options .Probably not but I imagine Sulemana has spoken to him and heard something more promising than "Right lad that we want is you to stand on the touchline for 90 minutes watching Coady and Tark try and smash it 80 years to Calvert Lewins head and if the ball rolls out to you we want you to boot it straight in the box none of this fancy stuff like pass and move or running with the ball just bam right on Lewins head if you don't know him he's the one wearing the Heels"
Bet they should him a much better Vision than what we and Dyche can offer.
