January Transfer Window 2023

I point the finger much higher than Thelwell. He's working in the bargain basement here and the club is a mess.

I can guarantee that Andre Ayew would be nowhere near his list of preferred targets.
He’s clearly been brought in as a scapegoat.

How many times did Moshiri namecheck him during that weird interview he done telling us the recruitment and football was his responsibility.

Might be unpopular but did anyone move today that was a). A realistic price and would come to Everton and b). Would have improved us?

I know it’s unpopular but I haven’t seen anyone move today that hits both those criteria. We can’t throw money around wrecklessly on players who “might” be good enough. Better to bank that Gordon money and spend it on players we are 100% convinced will improve us in the summer.

Would have improved us…. have you watched us this season???

As for the summer. Yeah I’m sure our £40m will go a long way in the Championship.

The logic of not spunking millions of precious money on utter dross during the final hours of the window is sound. I don't have an issue with that, actually.

My issue is that we knew Gordon was likely to be gone nearly a week ago, and we've had the whole month to look at the option of a forward line.

It's unforgivable that we haven't sorted an option out way, way before now.

We had danjuma in the bag until last week when he shafted us, we couldn’t have done anymore in that regard.

Players we have right now imo with the correct coaching which they now will hopefully get, have enough to finish above 3 teams this season I think.

No doubt, but if he's not helping then he's part of the problem.

We've not had a pot to piss in before but connections in the game/pragmatism brought in who we had to bring in.

That was when you could drop to the Championship and find a Cahill Lescott, Jagielka, Baines etc for peanuts.

We were supposedly quoted £20m+ for an average striker at Coventry.

He's working within the parameters the board are providing him and frankly that's an impossible task.

I have no time for the Board, obviously, but Thelwell is paid to do a job, and he manifestly hasn't done it. There was at least some money available, and he hasn't had the skill and ingenuity to use it to a productive end. What are we paying him for, if not that?????
