Which players are you talking about?

Yes the price we pay for relegation would be a painful one but that would be the culmination of years of mismanagement and failed transfers. Adding a couple of sub £10m players would likely not be the the difference between relegation or not.

Why would agents thinking we have £45m and desperate mean that we end up with no signings?

You don't add sub par players for £10mill if you scout and plan correctly. Keep saying it but Leeds bought Gnonto for £3milllion. Iwobi cost more than Brighton's starting 11. You plan and know what you're doing, you hit more than you miss.

We on the other hand were willing to pay £6mill bonus and loan fees as well as a possible £30mill transfer fee to a current championship player.

So for the price of better planning and scouting is a lot less than the £100mill the club will lose in relegation.

As for the £45mill leading to no signings...we clearly weren't going to spend that money/a fraction of it. Agents and club's don't see that...they see we've got money to spend so prices go up. Been said it's this that has caused deals to fall through tonight.

Today was akin to watching a loved one die of a illness knowing full well that you’re powerless to do anything for them. I’ve honestly spent today in shock, easily my worst day as an Evertonian. We’re watching our club die slowly, make no mistake about it we’re down, can’t blame Dyche, can’t blame the players, can’t blame Thelwell. It’s the board and Moshiri. Spineless cowards.

I genuinely apologise to anyone that I’ve been dismissive of, disagreeing with or for posts trying to be optimistic, I genuinely did not believe this board would have the audacity to actually not bring in players. I legitimately didn’t even think it possible, despite years of Everton under Moshiri and Kenwright.

Legitimately distraught. We all love this club more than anything, that’s clear but I really don’t know if I can stand behind this anymore with how we’ve been run into the ground and been setup to fail. I’ll be an Evertonian until the day I die and nothing will ever change that but I genuinely don’t know if I’ll ever be able to feel that same love again while these current parasites are there.

I’d love to abandon it, truly I would. I won’t though. This is my club, this our club, not theirs.

I don’t know what the future holds but no doubt it will be misery for a long time to come again.
I feel your pain mate. We all do.

It's still bending them and making it to be a complete farce it is. UEFA have already announced they're changing the rules where the max contact term is 5 years.

You get punished for breaking the rules...but not if you find a loophole. Superb
Yes. You get punished for *breaking* them. Chelsea haven't *broke* them at the moment. They may have difficulty keeping within those rules in a few years time though based on the risks they're currently taking.

FFP only comes in once clubs breach a certain level of losses over a sustained period - not instantly when a club goes big in a couple of windows.
