I don’t think he fits the new transfer model. We need players we can get a fee for at the end.
….we also need players who can keep us in the division.

Obviously, but I’m not sure we would pay a big fee for a player with no sell on value at the end of their contract. We’ve already tried that and it failed.….we also need players who can keep us in the division.

We certainly were every bit as big as Arsenal. People might scoff now and say Preston were once the biggest club in the land, but we were one of the three biggest clubs in the land after 100 years of league football. In other words, we stood the test of time. And then Bill Kenwright got involved. If social media was around in the 80s we would have loads more. Everton have been Turd while social media has been about. We had the second or 3rd most league titles. I think third behind Liverpool and Arsenal when the premier league started. More than Man U but they dominated the premier league years and look where they are on the list even if they have been a bit turd themselves in recent times.
This isn’t me saying we are bigger than Arsenal by the way. Spurs on the other hand tho we should be every bit as big as them today but where fighting relegation and they are challenging top four and I blame bill for it all.
Coady is absolutely fine because the agreed fee is very low.The problem with that was we had this lovely period of signing loads of them.
An occassiional one is fine, Coady for example in Summer will look to be a reasonable one.
I'm a bit worried of who our players are linked with. All going to teams around us in the league. But only way we're going to make signings is by selling.

For me, 15M is reasonable for both parties. Half year contract, it is their last chance to have something back.Coady is absolutely fine because the agreed fee is very low.
Palace won’t give Zaha away to a rival for a low fee (that’s where the conversation started).
but he doesn't score goals...Do you guys just pull up the Wikipedia and look at the two numbers to decide who can and can't score goals?
I doubt that is reasonable for Palace. They still have to stay in the division. Why would they strengthen a rival? I think they will let him run his contract down rather than sell unless a silly offer comes in.For me, 15M is reasonable for both parties. As opposed to the more in depth spreadsheets you use to judge a player without ever having watched them?Do you guys just pull up the Wikipedia and look at the two numbers to decide who can and can't score goals?
I agree, it will be player by player basis.Coady is absolutely fine because the agreed fee is very low.

We can't anyway because he's on about £250,000 per week, and United wouldn't pick up the bill for his wages to allow him to play for us. Plus, if he's genuinely available on loan, better clubs than Everton will be interested simply based on his reputation from Dortmund.Really hope we don’t go after Sancho.. I can just about live with taking a superstar youngster to give them development and game time (that’s where we are in the order of things these days) but absolutely don’t want us to be a rehabilitation club.. that experiment didn’t go well with Deli and I don’t see this being any different. Kudus or Jonathan David for me please.
Both would stink the place out here. Anywhere else they'd be world beaters. The Everton conundrum.Really hope we don’t go after Sancho..
