What's baffling in a way and I get you need a squad is that we bought Maupay and Garner for £35m between them we could have invested that money in one quality forward

We need to accomplish minor but crucial details with our January transfer window if we aim to stay up like i cant believe I have to type this but after numerous flawed transfers if we sign players they should have a set purpose for our squad and be able to make an immediate impact no dele, van der Beek, josh king , vinagre, al ghazi, maupay type signings. Have a clear vision for the window not act like you're grabbing random items at aldis five minutes before it closes

In the summer we brought in two good central defenders and two good central midfielders, both positions we really needed to improve on.
That is a positive.
We also brought in two forwards that were both poor options. That is a negative
Until yesterday, only the top 3 had conceded less goals than us. That is a really big positive. We should not dismiss how big a positive that is.
Only two teams have scored less than us which is a huge negative. We should also not dismiss how big a negative that is.
DCL getting fit, and a good centre forward coming in January (if we can get one) should see us climb quite a few spots and give us a base to build on next season.
I'm nowhere near as nihilistic as most on here appear to be, but before anyone tries to - please don't mistake my lack of doom as me thinking everything is perfect
