January Transfer Window 2023

Goes without saying a striker, one who can kick the ball at the goal preferably. I genuinely think we won't get a striker who scores more than 5 goals from January until the end of the season though. I actually think that'll go a long way to keeping us up if we have any sort of focal point up front.
Other areas are just as key. We need a winger who isn't a fairy and a midfielder who can progress the football.
Extra efforts to sell the usual suspects Keane/Holgate/Davies/Doucoure. Wouldn't complain if they left for free if it gave us extra room to buy someone less useless. In short, I think we're screwed. Hoping other teams are worse than us again is all we have left

Take a look, sign some good players now ffs.

Just seen this on twitter not sure how true it is

Wouldn't surprise me

Off the top of my head

Wolves at home - Gordon, Maupay, Godfrey all with great chances

Leicester at home - Iwobi with a bad miss, DCL with 2 great chances

Fulham away - DCL with a bad miss and Tarkowski with a free header from 6 yards

Spurs away - 2 one on one's missed

rs at home - Maupay from 6 yards

Leeds away - Gray and I think Onana had a great chance which was cleared off the line

There's about 10-11 just for starters

Yes Patterson at Leeds as well right at the end and gray clean through at Brentford when 1-0 up. I suppose it could be seen as a small positive, we’re probably mid table on big chances created.

You also notice some teams scoring off half chances or the odd worldie like the Leicester goal v us,
Which we never seem to do, I can only think of iwobi v utd as not a big chance?

Godfrey failed to score against an empty net vs Wolves.

As I said, incentives to take it up to higher wages - he's already on about £70-80k so IMO it shouldn't be tons higher than that.

He's been good, was great for spells last season and at the start of this. It's not his fault it's all on him to create but at the same time I understand the concerns of tying a player down that, for his good form, probably wouldn't be attracting tons of interest on the open market even though it's sensible to tie him down.

Everton weren't fending off offers for Iwobi this summer and I honestly doubt they would be in January regardless of his decent form.
90k is still a bump

Incentives won't do it.

Patterson at leeds too.

It’s all about transfer fee. Kudus who can be a striker/AM/winger. If we gave Ajax £35m (surely they would accept) instead of buying McNeil and Maupay at least we now have one good player in hand and a couple of points more and Lampard is safe for his job.
