I can get that some people have certain reservations about buying from the Championship given our situation, but it's because of that situation we limited to such a market. People suggesting all these wild foreign names need to give their heads a serious wobble as it's unlikely we will be able to structure the deal to meet our needs. The way I see Gyokeres is that I have watched him a number of times and he is the closest thing we are going to get to Dom, he can hold the ball up and he can make a chance for himself, he is decent on the ball and knows where the back of the net is (although he probably should score more than he does) Id take note that Brentford are interested in him as a replacement for Toney and they have a far, far better record and eye for recruitment than we do.There is something very Niasse about some of the Gyokeres goals Ive seen on youtube. I dont know how i feel about that.

Undersold the lad aswell. I was all for selling him but I always said we need to be asking for 75M for him. He’s worth that now after his World Cup.I remember a few posters on here telling me that Richarlison was not that good and that we would easily replace him, I said at the time that they should wait untill he had gone and then see if they still felt the same way. Can't be arsed with the vaults I'm too old to get involved with all that technology stuff but, I wonder if any of them have changed their opinion?
It wasn't just his ability, it was his attitude, he wanted to win and he dragged others along with him. His goals were handy too. I don't think we can begin to replace him on our budget, but, I do think we can replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin, we won't get a target man as good as him, but, seeing as he hardly ever plays, we need someone up front to be a focal point and to be a target for the route 1 stuff.
Niasse has his uses - mostly anytime I think ‘you know what, Martinez might do ok after all’…I remember the niasse substitution v West Ham and give my head a big wobbleBe afraid. Be very afraid.
If you've got the Niasse vibes we need to avoid at all costs.
