There’s far too much easy money to be made from lazy clickbait articles aimed at teeth-gnashing footy fans that need their new player fix.Used to be very reliable , not so much these days.
Credible to me is Romano , Joyce & Bascombe.
Yeah mate there's really not a lot of money in sports journalism. There’s far too much easy money to be made from lazy clickbait articles aimed at teeth-gnashing footy fans that need their new player fix.
They all go this way eventually.
If it's Ornstein then it's on the money.Used to be very reliable , not so much these days.

Paddy said we were looking at Elanga and the Coventry kid but who knows there's probably a listIf it's Ornstein then it's on the money.
The Athletic have three reliable reporters for Everton - Paddy, Greg and then Ornstein (who is reliable for everybody, because he's got a lot of contacts).
Everyone else who works for them pretty much have their own patches so will be reliable for other clubs.
Or threre is a difference between we do want him but Coventry not willing to sellUsed to be very reliable , not so much these days.

But they get their subscribers by printing stuff which their subscribers want to read, no?Yeah mate there's really not a lot of money in sports journalism.
The Athletic, for one, don't sell 'clickbait' because they're too busy trying to get subscribers. That's how they make their money.
They do, however, employ some of the best around when it comes to the writing side, even if far too many of them are up their own backsides (but that's not a strange thing in journalism).
Said this yesterday, happy to write negative stuff about an MP or a celeb but seemingly scared to write the truth about a football club and its ego mentalist chairman/owner/board.The level of journalism is horrific. The lad from the echo has been a news reporter on some really difficult topics over the years
As such, you’d hope he would be comfortable asking difficult questions but it seems like none of them want to step up maybe out of fear of not being asked back
They absolutely do sell clickbait. They have 4000 word articles that tell you absolutely nothing new or interesting on a regular basisYeah mate there's really not a lot of money in sports journalism.

I got rid of it. Too many of the journalists there are far too onside with the teams and managers they are reporting on to be objective. They absolutely do sell clickbait. They have 4000 word articles that tell you absolutely nothing new or interesting on a regular basis
I'm due to cancel soon myself. They practically give it away but far too matey with clubs to be paying and also there's the ads now as wellI got rid of it. Too many of the journalists there are far too onside with the teams and managers they are reporting on to be objective.
They're terrified of having no "in" at the club, so they post hagiographical or anodyne trash that offends nobody. It's not just our "reporters". Honigstein spent six years in denial about Joachim Löw. Most of these guys are not objective observers. They have a dependent relationship with the people they are paid to report on.I'm due to cancel soon myself. Agree six weeks to sort signings out with no distractions and it appears we are still going to delay it's going to get a lot worseThis chat about hoping to do business is a load of tosh
The business should already be done ahead of the window opening. It's totally unacceptable and the media refuse to ask the important questions. The fans don't want softball questions, we want to know exactly why the club is ran like such a shambles
Every game that goes by without signing forwards is a step closer to relegation. Never forget these idiots who run the club let us begin a new season without an available forward.
