Even thought it is more difficult there is value to be had in the loan market if you have the right people/network on it (which appears to be the issue for the last few years). We have benefitted from the loan system in the past. I think Landon was a January loan signing if memory serves. We just have the void the El Ghazi’s and Mangala’s of this world which appears to be easier said than done
Lukaku was a loan signing, so it is possible to get a good loan signing fingers crossed.

Appreciate we have to slag off everything the club does - but recalling Simms is the right thing to do as we need more options.

Yes, they shouldn't have loaned in the first place.

Our league position shows we are a bit desperate so I'm not sure that Simms really affects negotiations - other than adding another card to our hand.

Constantly buying players when we are desperate is what helps gets us in this mess - Alli, Iwobi, Tosun, Rondon etc.

Simms has scored 7 in 17 in Championship - not awful - not as good as Gyokeres but they both play at the same level.

Not sure overpaying for a championship player in Jan is smart.

But loaning / buying a PL level attacker is a must too.

Simms is a decent finisher and is prob more suited to our "style" than maupay. Who we bought less than 12 months ago....under the same dof and manager. Inept isn't the word
Maupay was bought as a richarlison replacement not as a no9.
Dogged, bit of snide and coming in off the left with a goal threat.
A Pound shop richarlison mind.
Unfortunately he has been asked to play up top and doesn’t have the attributes to play in the “system” we have. Namely holding it up and winning headers.

And McNeil too. To play lm or lw.

I was categorically told on here that maupay was bought as back up lol. A club with no money , no strikers payed 15m for back up.

Of course he was bought as his replacement along with mcneil .

You love Everton but hate Moshiri, The man who has pumped millions into the club and has put a new stadium in place. Idiot.
Stadium fine.
Pumping money in to mercenaries and undermining the “hard work” ethic that the club had built… punching above its weight. It will take years to rebuild that culture… that’s on him

Hmm, not sure this is true as Maupay hasn’t started any game on the left, even the games Dom started.

I respectfully disagree. The only thing I would mark against him was the awful, awful decision to bring that Spanish Kopite in as manager. In Lampard and Kevin Thelwell we have a good foundation to start to build. It needs time. Chopping and changing managers is the worst thing that could happen at this point.

It's clear that the board aren't going to give Lampard any money in January what they did to Benitez last season.

Lampard knows he is under huge pressure so needs for find some goals, bringing Simms back isn't stupid because it allows him to use Simms as like for like backup for DCL.

On Simms, I don't want to say will be the messiah or turd because it's unfair to ask too much from a lad who has been drafted in while the club is under this much pressure. I will say he will fight for every opportunity he has and I wish others at the club would.

I think City is a dead rubber and FA Cup v Man Utd also in terms of our priorities this season.

A poor results v Brighton and Southampton and that's Lampard gone
