No chance they’d loan him out surely. Don’t see the point in that at all.

Emery plays with one striker and appears to like Watkins more
Loan frees them space to evaluate until the summer
Loan also lets Ings play and not drop his value by being relegated to being a bench option

Plenty of plausible reasons

Too old for us and has not ben scoring that much of late.
I would like us to keep Ings at Villa. He has started 8 games this season and scored 5 goals, 3 in his last 5 games since Emery became manager. He works really hard, is a very good finished and is excellent off the ball. He is 'only' 29, so still has a couple of years of PL football left in him. I don't know what price he would be but if he is, say 15m, I think that is a bargain for a proven goal scorer and someone that would be perfect for Everton for the next couple of years while u get yourselves out of the FFP mess your board have put u in. But, as I said, I hope he stays at Villa as he can be relied upon to start a game and is an excellent sub to bring on with 20 mins to go.

If we really are after a Kevin Campbell type signing, rather than trying to sign an undiscovered Drogba, then Ings could be our man. Campbell was 29 when he came on loan and Ings is 30. I think he'd be an asset in a relegation run-in.
