I'd take Ings he's a finisher yes he's 30 so it's not ideal, but he's a goal scorer it's a short term one but offer him two years?
I would have him to if the price was right. We still desperately need a wide forward and a creative midfielder can’t see all that been sorted out this month tho.

My concern isn't necessarily with Ings but with how Everton seem unwilling to adapt the style of play to the players we have available. We've not had any tall target man while Dom has been out but we haven't changed our approach play. We need to be willing to change how we play to suit the types of goals Ings can get. Thats just something I haven't seen us do yet.

It's easy to excuse every short term deal on its own but then you end up with a whole team of guys who aren't good and are getting worse
True but do you also trust this club to secure a player with potential from another league that will also score goals/offer something this season? They usually get it wrong or don't gamble.

If we sign Coady now for £4m or whatever and use the loan freed up for Ings I’d be happy with that.

We are gonna struggle to sign proven goals in Jan and ings has that and on a loan it seems sensible to me. Maybe with an option to buy at a certain price agreed but either way I’d be happy with that way of working and then we can look at a foreign loan and a permanent signing of two creative players while trying to get rid of Doucoure, Keane, Holgate

Everton want to sign teenager Alex Scott from Bristol City in January

Everton are among half a dozen Premier League clubs, including Bournemouth, who are interested in signing Bristol City youngster Alex Scott, according to talkSPORT.
The Toffees are looking to be proactive in the January transfer window following a poor start to the Premier League season, and they have locked onto Guernsey-born Scott, who has made 25 appearances in the Championship this term.

-- £10mil apparently.
Being from Bristol, I watch him play on a regular basis. He’s a very good player and has everything to go to the top, but still very young and I wouldn’t say he’s ready for the prem just yet. Would be a signing for the future rather than now. Similar in style to Barkley… minus being a knobhead!

Ultimately the issue is it's diminishing returns even over that short period.

There's no concrete links or anything but if there's a deal to be there I do think it'd have to be worth a look. A loan would be ideal.

But you've got several concerns - injuries, he's also not a hold up player in Dom's mould, big wages etc.

Maybe we need more LFC rejects, Conor Coady has been potentially our best player, lets get Ings in.

He is a perfect Everton player, ageing, injury prone, high wages
