We should be able to clear some wages and get some faces in. Keane and Doucoure are probably on £80k a week plus. Move Davies on who has just stagnated for 5 years and have Price as back up. If we need funds then more effort should have been made to move some of the deadwood we still have. Those 3 gone would free up £200k plus a week.

Net spend takes into account spent and received fees. I'd imagine Villa and West Ham's wage bills wouldn't be too dissimilar to ours.
I think someone one posted about West Ham and being under scrutiny from the premier league , think they’ve gambled this summer to maybe try and get top 4. But they will be selling rice and probably Bowen next summer.
Villa will be sailing close to the wind, but maybe the 100mil from grealish is keeping them at bay at the moment.

Not sure how wolves are doing it, when there was rumours they needed to sell in the summer, brought in like 50 and spent something like 130 and another 50 on loan/obligation.
Talking of loan to obligation, nice to hear Frank mention this in his press conference, always wondered why we never did this and a number of other clubs do.

Just remembered, don’t we have the option to buy Cody for £4 million this January?

Are we really that potless we can’t get the deal done?!?
If we have 4mil or even 10mil, which Frank mentioned in his press conference that we have money to spend. Why waste 4 or 3 or what ever the deal is With wolves on a player already here, when that money can help us get a forward

But he’s here till the summer anyway. So you would rather make coady a
Permanent deal than buy a striker

If he is here till the summer anyrate, why would we sign on a perm now? Unless Wolves can recall him. Now you raise it, its quite a complicated, well potentially, situation isnt it? I guess the answer is buried in the loan agreement we have with Wolves and the player.

I'm sick of hearing this line, whether it's fans that trot it out or managers, plenty of clubs DO manage business in the winter window with no issues. It's one of those crap excuses for lazy clubs who can't scout or can't get their financials in order.

Absolutely right. And it’s hardly difficult to improve this squad is it! Look at the state of it.

Im
99% it’s a full season loan, I think it would be common knowledge if they could recall him, maybe we lose him in the summer, if another clubs comes in for him. But that’s a chance we have to take, every penny we have has to go towards a couple of forwards

I'd imagine he wouldn't be keen on playing Championship football, nor could we afford his wages down there so probs best for all parties to hold off until the end of the season.
I suppose so, maybe he is waiting it out?

On the other hand you would have thought we could get it all done now - the fee is chump change this day and age!

We must be skint and as others have said, any money we have needs to go on the top end of the pitch.

Yeah, I totally get that, we need attacking options now.

Thinking we must be stoney broke if we can’t do the coady deal now and we are sniffing loans, and that’s also why lampard and his team haven’t been sacked.

Just bloody depressing.
