January Transfer Window 2023

Ok mate I give you that. I was saying Thuram and Kamada too but what has the dol been doing in the last 6 weeks…

God knows, bringing simms back imo is a sign that we won't be doing deals till late in the window.

If we were to have deals on the table for the likes of kamada and thuram, id imagine they'd sit on them till last minute of the transfer window in hopes of a better team/deal coming in for them.

No player that improves our first team will want to come here in January. We'll have to wait and hope they don't have any other choices.

Thats not to say deals can't be done. I personally think we could get a loan on sancho done today if we tried for one and mofi deal could of been done for the first day.

So God knows tbh. Some signings not coming in I can understand but there should of been someone ready to come in in the opening of the window.

I genuinely think we don't start trying to get players in till the window opens.

Or we don’t move not until Frank is gone?

That makes no sense though as what if Frank had built on the City game and got a result against Brighton and then gets one tonight and we are all of a sudden on a little run. I just think it's a case of we are still having to structure deals and trying to find players/clubs to agree to this.

Honestly don’t understand how we can’t spend any money. I feel like we haven’t really signed anyone for years but because of mistakes from like 5 seasons ago, we now can’t buy. Yet Chelsea have gone out and spend 350m this season. It’s just so not fair is it.

Chelsea make money, we don't we loose £100m every year.

Its not the buying players that's crippling us its the fact we sign players on stupid wages they'll never get anywhere else. So they'll never leave so they just run down their contracts because if we sold them they'd have to take a pay cut. So we don't make money off player sales. Then we keep hold of players like Gordon when we should of sold. £45m for him would of been a god send and this stupid club turned it down, so now it looks like we're going to have to pay stupid wages to get him to sign a new contract or else he'll leave on a free or well get next to nothing for him in then summer.

We also don't make any make money commercial. For example we have just announced our best ever shirts sponsor which is £10.5m a season. Which sounds like alot but when you take into account that Sunderland had a £20m a year deal for their shirt sponsor around a decade ago. It paints a picture of how bad our club is at bringing commercial revenue.

I'm not enamored by that kudus. Loan with £9m option to buy was a good deal for us. £40m for a lad that doesn't start for a Dutch team is terrible business.

For that fee we could get thuram, kamada, mofi and sancho on loan.

That would be dream land obviously but these are the type of deals we should be trying for as opposed to a kid that was worth a quarter of his current asking price 6 months ago.
I don't disagree with your general point but probably worth remembering that while we might be able to bring in those players for that fee (if they'd somehow entertain coming here), it would probably mean we were paying out somewhere between 5 and 10 times as much per week in wages, so it's not quite as straightforward as it seems.

Just had a look at the Championship table. Blackburn aren’t getting automatic promotion, so they have to choose between selling Diaz now or hoping he will get them promotion via the playoffs. It puts us in a better position than a few weeks ago, when automatic promotion looked possible for Blackburn.
