Everyone on here hated on Newcastle and were up in arms when the thought of Eddie Howe being our manager came up. He now has them fighting for champions league while we’re sat fighting just to stay up. Perhaps the fans don’t know as much as we think we do.
How dare you! Take that back.

Everyone knows us fans know everything.

A coach who has improved the players he had at his disposal (Almiron/Joelinton). Lampard arguably has regressed a few of ours. Whilst I want him to succeed you can't deny we've not moved forward in any department since his arrival. In terms of player development that's ALL on him sadly.

If Ajax think they are getting 40m for Kudus at this stage of his career I think they are badly mistaken.
I think he has a lot to prove before he merits that kind of fee and meantime his contract will probably not be extended by him.

Defence has improved surely, apart from the Brighton game?

Though on one level you are right, many of us didnt want him. Easy to say we were wrong now tbf
but if Howe asked for specific players to enable his expansive style of play as an Everton manager
instead of getting Bruno G, Trippier, Dan Burn, Pope and Botman, he would have got
Maupay, McNeil, Begovic and Vinagre
Delighted to see him doing well but with our board I don't think it's a case of apples for apples

He didn't inherit Coady or Tarkowski. Patterson barely played. Miko was fairly solid from the start. My point was that Howe has unquestionably improved the output from many areas of that side. Lampard hasn't done it so obviously.

I highly doubt they're paying someone who's just played in the World Cup final the sort of wages he'd be getting in ligue 2 either, but I suppose we'll never know. Generally speaking people who are running their contracts down get higher wages, because you end up paying them the equivalent of what you would have paid in fees, and both Thuram and Kamada are out of contract in the summer. Of course it's possible that they'll turn down the supposed combined interest of Barcelona, Chelsea, United, Spurs, Dortmund and Newcastle in order to come here and play for the same wages that they currently earn at better clubs, but it seems a little unlikely to me.

He'll be lucky if he's on £30kpw Mönchengladbach are a europa league team who sometimes break into the champions league in the german league. They aren't paying mad wages to players. So we could easily double that and everyone will he happy.

Yeah...I did put in my op that if we were to get these players it would be because no one else went in for them and even if we did have a bid on the table for them they'd wait till the end of the window for better offers.

So I'd thank you not to put words in my mouth.

Maybe next time read my whole post instead of putting a arsey comment? Would make the fourm a nicer place for everyone :coffee:

Apart from Iwobi, who is like a new player compaired to the one Lampard inherited. But losing Richarlison and not finding a replacement, is a big reason for our further decline. I also agree that the improvment in Almiron and Joelinton is amazing.
