You can’t buy early if teams won’t sell early. Teams will only sell early if they don’t want the player, or need the cash urgently to reinvest, or you offer stupid money. And even then, when they are up for it, they will only sell early if they believe you are going to move onto another target. They’d rather tentatively agree a price, than wait for Forest or Villa to offer more. And so they should.

If they don’t want the player, then they must plop or trouble. We can’t offer stupid money because we don’t have it. And we can’t move onto other targets because the market we are operating in is very small and filled with other teams wanting similar targets. And we only look at ex-United academy players or players too good to come here.

All in all, we are buggered.

Club is absolutely finished £500m and we find ourselves in this situation, we need to get this board out in no other business could you spend that kind of money and have these kind of performance losses and the board still be in a job think this is the season Everton finally break me and I give up on supporting football and just enjoy watching it as a casual, the money involved in the game is already putting me off seeing players like grealish going for £100m is ridiculous,

There is no real interest yet it seems from everton for this player. Had a look at their forum and some of their itks...and only firm interest from club in Germany with offer of 17 millions euros and one other offer from Leicester of 20 millions euros plus bonus...both offers rejected...nothing from everton...too early guys.

101 goals, 40 assists in 279 games not bad if you could get him in on a free on cheap wages.

Admittedly I know nothing about the man apart from a quick look at his stats.

1 stand out season in the ligue 1 where he scored 16 goals, got double digits for goals in 2 out of 5 Portuguese league, did well at besiktas 27 goals in 53 games.

Seem like he'd be a decent 3rd choice if you could get him cheap wages on a short term deal.
