If no buyout clause then Grealish didnt need to be sold by Villa. Or they could have demanded £101mil+.

As they had the buyout clause in his deal they had no option but to ssll once the £100mil was met.

They could have sold for any amount lower but never higher...

Spanish laws of course make this a legal requirement to have the buyout.

But for the club to hold all the cards, they'd never include one as someday you'll get a Grealish or a Neymar situation.
