Apart from Haaland, I've yet to see a football anywhere close to father's level. They're always hyped up in their teens due to the famous dad but pretty much always end up massive flops and go in the abyss. Jordi Cruff, Justin Kluivert, Alex Bruce are a few that spring to mind

Though I suppose you're only likely to know of a father son duo if the father was already pretty famous.

If the father was league 2 e,g you wouldn't recognise the son's name.

As good as arhie was, he was definitely eclipsed by the maestro that is Scott gemmill.

10 days into the window and we've not even got a loan in. Yet again the club places itself in a stupid position, clear they won't sign players until Lampard's future is clear but he'll only stay on if he goes on a good run, which will take weeks. I'd be shocked if we have anything at all done by the last 2-3 days, which no doubt by then we'll be in an even worse position.

I think you probably don't grow up with the same hunger to succeed as your father, as you've lived an easy life of plenty - and as you say, the famous dad makes it an easy in. You don't need to stand out from the crowd through individual effort.

I think Haaland is different largely because of his phenomenal physical attributes. He is pure beast.

Lampard was asked before/after the United game and he said there is a budget for players ( as well as looking at loans etc )
Yes, there is a budget but it’s very limited. Loans, deferred payment/structured deals etc.

We’re not putting down terms teams want to accept straight away, they’ll be waiting to see what better offers come in - we’ll get deals done once clubs accept our offer is the best/all they’ll get. That’ll take time and it’s why we’ve not seen immediate signings, much as we need them.

Mainly because the lads get into the academy's off there dads name (Conor Coadys lad plays for our academy, Tim Cahill's son also)
And you see Romeo Beckham & Harvey Neville both played for Inter Miami's B team, how do you think they got in there.

They get a leg up and a route in via there dad's whereas on most occasions, the father had to work hard to get there chance, they came from further back if that makes sense, a lot more dad & lad examples are coming through these days and its pretty much down to the dad's using the club acadamys as child care while they are at training!

There are obviously exceptions Gio & Caludio Reyna, Thiago & Mazinho, Sergio Busquets dad played for Barca i think, Frank Lampard & his old man, Brennan & David Johnson but most of the times your point is spot on!

I don’t think it has anything to do with Lampard’s future. Everything to do with the financial position the board has put us in. Folk are massively underestimating how difficult the board have made it to operate and compete in this market.

The board’s shambolic Digne sale, Myko, Paterson transfers followed closely by FSW getting the boot should demonstrate they have not the slightest strategic planning.

We will get a couple of these on loan, all associated wit Kia Joorabchian
