We don't have an oligarch secretly funding the club anymore. Moshiri is only a billionaire because of what usmanov gifted him. We are now effectively left with 2 kenwrights.

The clubs spending more than us around us in the league are also not run by Oil money or States. Just normal prem club owners.

I’d definitely have him over that Zapata, when he was at West Ham I always rated him a lot. Could be similar impact to Townsend who we all wrote off before playing. Wouldn’t say he’s gonna be like Rondon because he’s scoring goals at a good rate in Serie A
He’s a much better player than Townsend, he got 2 league goals from open play for us, last season, what a success story

Im still baffled as to why we cant spend any money.

FFP and the Prem spending rules is a 3 year period is it not ??

In the last 5 years our net spend is at £165 million.....in the current bottom 10 of the prem 5 teams have spent more than us in that time.

Why is it only high spending Everton that are mentioned, and why are these other clubs able to spend and we cant !?!

Im convinced we are not spending so Moshiri can sell it with better recent books, OR the money is being re-directed into the ground OR paying his loans back.

It doesn't add up to me.

There's no big conspiracy mate, it's just that people like to try and over-simplify it all

Whatever your feelings are on the bloke, the Esk is generally pretty good at explaining roughly where we are with regard to finances

This is worth a read - in short, we are still on the tightrope

This, Moshiri is a wealthy guy but its paper wealth, stocks, shares, bonds that sort of thing, he isn't someone with loads of disposable cash like some of our fans seem to think. Alisher Usmanov does have that sort of money however. Problem was that as soon as the Ukraine thing started the tap turned off and Moshiri "took a back seat" thus confirming he is little more than Usmanovs bagman/errand boy. The only way out is external investment or a sale.

All those other massive spending clubs must also be in trouble then !?!

And why does the media not mention any of them ??

Neither external investment nor a sale change the picture with regard to the FFP/STCC cycle we have to get through, at least not in any meaningful way.

All of those clubs make more money than us, clearly. We lose £100m+ every year, our wage bill will dwarf theirs and our sponsorships are probably less lucrative than theirs. I also bet they’ve made more money from player sales than we have, because we barely make anything from that. It isn’t simply a case of comparing transfer fees out, that’s not how FFP works.

Because none of them have racked up the sort of unsustainable losses that we have over those accounting periods - the likes of Forest etc might have problems down the line with their spending, but for now they're fine as the rolling 3 year periods allow wiggle room

We don't have that luxury

The figures are all there, it's just that people want to ignore them

We've been loosing over £100m every season and we've lost the usm sponsorships we had that which I think were worth £30m that our inept board havent replaced.

Personally I think Moshiri has pulled and financing hes been making out of the club because it looks like hes going to have to fund the whole stadium at this point.

Plus it probably wasn't his money he was chucking at transfers to begin with.
