I don't want us to get someone that we can't realistically sell if we did go down unless they're absolutely unreal and will keep us up by themselves. I'd much rather take the punt on the likes of Dembele rather than trying for "proven" players like Ings or Antonio.

He notched twenty odd in France a few seasons back also good in Europe has more pedigree and is a better age than a lot of the strikers we have been linked with beyond the Prem and aging ones.

Yes actually I had heard of a few of them, It's my local club for starters. Also I work in sport and through my job we have some involvement with Brighton and Portsmouth academy setups so I have visited their Lyons Farm training ground many times. I will admit that some of their South American buys were not familiar to me, simply because we don't get much access to it over here. Facundo Buonanotte is the latest wonderkid they have bought from Argentina for 5p and has been compared to Messi/Maradonna (never heard of him and was the same with Caicedo) The thing is I would never claim to be an expert on football and players but one of my colleagues at work who actually teaches data analysis for sport has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of players from all the leagues. He can tell you the entire career history of some striker from a team playing in Serie C so I get to hear about players all the time mate.

Think it's probably more to do with the fact that, Moffi aside, he's the only semi-decent CF we've been linked with.

Zapata could be a bit of a carthorse sometimes, but was always a handful. However, he appears to have lost a lot of his pace and his hamstrings are shot. The other CFs we've been linked with are terrible.

21/22 is certainly a standout.

But then so is 9 in 25 in the SPL
0 in 5 in La Liga
and the 2 in 14 this season.

Then theres the whole.

But dont get me wrong, its not a no, I just do find his OVERALL record slightly underwhelming.

So in twenty months, December 20 to October 22, he had 160 days out through injury.

And not just one long term break or ligament you can overlook, lots of niggles.

Being out 160 of 600 days ain’t great. No injuries during summer breaks either, so really he was out 80 days per season, best part of 3 months out of 9.

Me no likey.
