It's dangerous to gamble on potential summer sale of a player no matter how good he is. If he gets a serious injury towards the end of the season then nobody will come knocking for him...meaning having to wait for the following window whilst his contract is running out.

Decent player. Excellent finisher. VERY late bloomer though. Not far off 30 and has just emerged as a real quality player in the last couple of years.
Not a chance we get him, even in the Summer if we stay up. Recently capped a few times by Germany and banged in goals for them too. Considered the national team's best striker at the moment.

23 goals against halfway through the season is not just a very tiny improvement on 66 against - it is pointing towards a huge improvement - about 30% better

With Dembele.. I'd think he'll either score a goal a game, or else he'll come on in some match for the last 30 mins in some game we're 3-0 down in, pull a hammy, and be out for the rest of the season. There is no in between with him. Its a bit like getting asked by Dirty Harry if we're feeling lucky or not.

Can you help me understand how going from 36 goals conceded in the first 19 games last season, to 23 at the midway point this season is not an improvement in any way, shape or form?
