So why do they come for us, last year Leeds and Burnley complained about us.. could not get my head around it
Because we overspent for 7 years trying to play catch up (or take a short cut, whichever you prefer). And because we couldnt offer actual success, we spent more on people who werent worth it. Sigurdsson was £45m, but when you factor in 4 year contract at £120k per week, its actually cost us £70m. And since we signed him, we havent even qualified for the Europa League once. He is also 1 of many players that left for nothing at the end of the contract, so we didnt get anything back.

And if £70m on its own doesnt sound so bad, we then had to match that with many other incoming players, so we ended up with upwards to 10 players on £100-120k per week deals. Thats over £1m per week minimum in wages for players that half the time we didnt even want. Thats £52m per season for 4 years, just on our top earners, and thats before you factor in transfer fees.

Luckily for us, we didnt have to pay them much by way of win bonuses.

When tho when does it reset brilliant post just don't know

It doesn’t reset mate its rolls from year to year, you have to stay within a loss of 105 million for every three year period - you will always be judged on your last years set of accounts and the two previous. When the year moves forward the oldest year dropes out of the assessment but includes the newest. Essentially we have a few years to go, we’re going to be working hard to stay in these rules for a while.

Two things though, 1 the stadium will increase what we make I.e. because we make most our overspend/ losses come down.

2) Uefa are doing away with their model of FFP and the PL will to. PL one is similar to Uefa.

Uefas new model is you can spend 70% of what you earn on transfer fees, wages and agents, anything above you are in breach.

The PL are going to do away with their profit and sustainability rules to. They are going to run the same model as Uefa, however PL clubs are going to be allowed to spend more then the 70% Uefa allows, which means clubs in Europe can spend 70% - like City, while we - not being in Europe can spend more. In the initial stage you will be allowed make a loss of 40 mill, so our budget would be about 180 mill to start with, we dont know when the rules are going to be brought in for the PL just yet, but be soon - they’ve already been agreed by the clubs and announced.

It does make you think, Are we actually spending more on wages to players either shipped out on loan or camped up in the treatment room then we are on the players we're relying on to save us this season. ?

Over the years we have paid a lot on loaned out players but currently Gomes is the only one on big wages out on loan. Apart from Yerry and DCL our injured players aren’t on massive wages. The one thing we’ve actually been able to do recently is cut chaff but a lot of that is because of contracts running out. Years of mismanagement have put us in the position we are in but we do finally seem to have become a bit more savvy. Sadly it’s probably too late and the mistakes from the previous years is what will put us down.

Dele must still be taking a hefty piece or are Besiktas covering most of that

Might be paying a chunk of his wages but again it was a pretty savvy move. We haven’t paid a transfer fee and we never will as even if he comes back we’ll be getting rid. I think it was a risk worth taking. Of course we will have wasted some money on him but when a player of his (previous) calibre comes up on an initial free it’s worth a go. Look at Lingard at West Ham/Forest, similar situation. Say we sell him for £5m in the summer (might be fanciful) that would cover most of the outlay. You have to remember how desperate we were when we signed him.

If nothing else, it was worth it for the palace game...
