Well, only one of them can play a pass forwards (Iwobi) and he doesn't do it often enough. Garner is good at that. Doucoure is a box to box player who is horrible in possession and at dribbling, Garner is good at both.

None of the above could take a decent set-piece, even if their lives depended on it. Garner is excellent at them.

So, yes, I would say we did need a signing like that. Playing combinations of the above because 'they can all play there' is the kind of attitude that has got the club into this mess. Yes, they can play there, but can they play there well and effectively?

We had Allan as well.

Garner might turn out to be a decent signing but with limited money and no goals in the squad, it was a strange position to prioritise. Especially as he wasn’t going to be starting games.

I don’t think any of them are the prices you’ve put ?. According to the transfer market. Myko 20mil McNeil 15, maupay 9, Garner 8. And they could be total prices after add ons.
And also harsh in Garner who hasn’t had a run yet

My point is your figures are incorrect. Isn’t that clear? I wasn’t saying the things you said are wrong… just to point out the exact figure is £62m for the time being.

But this is precisely the problem. Our midfield make-up, simply isn't good enough. He could make a difference. Garner was the signing I was most pleased by other than Onana.
