Anyone got an idea of what this does for us in regards to FFP.

I’m not an expert but it’s pure profit on the books as he’s an academy lad we paid 0 for.

So if we sell him for 35, then spend 35 on a player or players on 5 year contracts that comes off the books at 7m a year. So if we just spend what we make it’s in theory 28m onto this years accounts ( or we could spend more, but we might need to balance the books).

The other financial advantage is we were about to give him a new contract so there is a big saving in not having to up his wages and pay a signing fee etc.

I think this is a mistake by Newcastle, if we were them and had unlimited funds, I wouldn’t be happy going for Gordon. Literally can’t get in the worst team in the league

Thats a fantastic deal. When we think of signing someone of similar age and price, for me its Onana. Someone you can tell will hit the top level.

Not seeing Gordon in the same light as Onana. Not in the slightest.

With it being a home grown sale we should be able to leverage up far more than the £35mil.

I hope that we have more sales lined up (Keane/Holgate/Doucoure) and start to make some exciting moves.

Lose one u21 player and sign 3 with high potential that can hit the ground running .
