Makes sense to me if we can get a big fee. Rough calculation. 30m signed in 2022 on a five year deal.

Amortization 6m a year. 1.5 years as at Jan 24, leaves roughly 21m value on books.

Selling for 60m leaves us just under 40m profit.

Note, not sure how clubs deal with residual value, so profit likely lower
A theory I have is that now we’ve been hit for 22/23 FFP we might be slightly more inclined to sell him for a profit.

For sure the fact we were in FFP trouble from the previous yer and spent 30m on Onana will come up. If we can point to the fact we’ve already sold for profit it could be a mitigation as it was a successful investment with the value realised quickly.

It won’t change the numbers for 22/23 but if the rules are anything to do with profit and sustainability clubs have to be able to player trade successfully, that’s how you become sustainable. It’s at least something we could argue in mitigation.

I’d be worried about an Onana sale and how we replace him but if someone’s got to go it’s another reason it might be best if it’s him.

20% sell on also.

This smells like a deal to make sure they don't get hit by psr/ffp rules. Anything more than 20 millions should be investigated.
Agree, Almiron is a very ordinary sort of player, reminds me a bit of Harrison. If it ends up being some silly fee then you just know it's a proper blag imo, he is never a £30-40m type.

don’t do it to yourself mate

yes the number of goals he has scored and sometimes poor crossing is not the best. But you also have to remember Dyche's system of defending starts very much from the front. If we had too many Demarai Gray / James Roderiquez type of players we would be conceding many more goals. For me it is more crucial we have good options from the bench to change it if we need a goal late on in games. Somebody like Gnonto might be able to bring that. Not sure how well he tracks back defensively.
So Harrison or James Rodriquez yes thats a tricky one 🙈

So basically what you’re saying is while dyche is here, we will only play hardworking players even our forwards.

You need to tell that to the dyche fan boys in here, who think once he sells Onana amd Branthwaite and gets a transfer kitty he will turn us into a goal scoring, free flowing l, attacking machine

Well it seems that way right: that is why he didnt play Gray and clearly thinks Danjuma doesnt offer enough (although he seems to work hard enough for me in the games he has played in). Sure Harrison can not come close to the skills of Rodriquez, but it is clear Dyche doesnt want a player who does not put in a shift as an attacker. It wolud be good also for the rest of the team if we have 1 exception (unless the player has the quality of Messi lol).
