It is a national shame that the likes of Sky/ talksport / print media had eff all to gurn over yesterday. In particular, a heartfelt hug goes out to Jim White, who usually looks like a overly excited monkey beating away, but had nothing to talk about yesterday. I wonder what he did, or blamed it on, or how he turned it around into some exciting news?

Did sky even run their night long countdown last night? Surely not even they had the gonads to do that?

That's nothing, for some reason I have just been watching the 1985 charity shield and within 3 minutes the Prime Minister has had a pop at us for spending 800k on Gary Lineker and the commentator was bemoaning our use of the offside trap as it makes the game less fun for the neutral.

Its been happening for decades.

Bit random?

Said before the deduction that it would be Niasse style punishment for us. Still think it.

The rules will change because they have to.

Sorry for being dumb but what is that?

There was a rule brought in for diving .. we were the first to be punished for it … then westham , then the rule was never applied again , despite the rule never being removed .

Think it was against palace if memory serves me right

Woke up this morning to see the back pages commenting on how it's essentially Evertons fault for this.
It’s a ridiculous narrative. It’s about the numbers. Clubs wouldn’t be paying any attention to the sanction if their numbers were fine.

The reason so many clubs are now bouncing off the 105 limit is that the limit was set ten years ago and has never increased with inflation (football and non-football).

PSR isn’t just effected by transfer fees, everything counts: wages of everyday staff, cost of travel, cost of switching on the floodlights. These may seem trivial compared to PL fees and wages but they add up, and everything has gone through the roof as we all know.

The fact the PSR number never kept up with inflation, either in football terms or every day cost terms, is a massive part of why everyone’s suddenly at the limit. And the Everton verdict hasn’t changed any other club’s numbers.

It's costing Newcastle £200.000 a day.

Being The richest club in the world, has come to late For them.

Maybe clubs should focus on actually trying to be profitable like any real business, instead of aiming to avoid losing no more than some threshold amount set by the PL. Large losses year over year are simply not sustainable.

The rule has been irrelevant since VAR tbh.
It shouldn't be. If anything VAR should make it easier to identify fakery / cheating - and whilst they can take immediate action to ensure they don't win penalties - there is no real deterrent even with yellow cards. PL should subsequently review these instances and dish out bans / suspensions with financial penalties against the club.

Not sure why we did not go for ogbene...on a free no brainer and probably low wages. We were watching him apparently but as always slow and probably our obsession of prioritising players with premier league experience.
