January transfer window 2024

In our current position - selling Godfrey for 9 million, get Holgate back for cover and spend the rest on loan deals for midfielder and a wideman probably a sensible solution.

Godfrey has played once this year and clearly doesn’t have a future here.

would take it would prefer that we could make a deal for another younger cb but price could stop that

Aye. Ridiculous where we are really as a club. M

I think we’d hope that tarky and Branthwaite stay fit/keep same levels as first half of the season.

Think we really need a new midfielder. Someone who could do a similar job to doucoure would be great. Feels as once he is out we usually have to got to a 3 at the back which means Michael Keane…

Is a massive risk just cant see him having holgate back as 4th choice. Yeah agree with you is a few areas the team is light in with no cover.

We need to get rid of the exorbitantly expensive unholy trinity: Godfrey, Keane, and Holgate. We need to get rid of ALL of them ASAP!

Of course, we will somehow need to find replacements should we actually find someone stupid enough to take them off us.

It would be quite funny if Godfrey went to super-duper Saudi spending Newcastle, who are actually stuck in midtable on a similar points tally to Everton in reality, and are supposedly now contemplating a 9 million pound move for Ben Godfrey lol .

Dyche will be aware that compromises are needed. Selling Godfrey and recalling Holgate would be a small downgrade at 4th choice CB but for all the minutes Godfrey has played it’s not likely to make a huge difference.

Even 9m for Godfrey could be put to good use, given we only spent 3.5m actual cash in the summer it gives us something to work with. If it could get us in a CM and a winger (whether that’s full fees /down payments / loan fees) it could result in a much better balanced squad.
