Strong and good quick accurate passing. I like him.

he wasn't spun though. can we stop criticising players for things they haven't done?Unfortunately he will need more than size to be a successful premier League defender. At times last night and, especially towards the end of the match, he got too close to the attacker. A good attacker could spin him.
Since Branthwaite arrived its appeared to me that the club sees him further in his development/level(s) above Gibson. He was training with the first team the day after joining (https://theathletic.co.uk/1556327/2020/01/24/jarrad-branthwaite-everton-transfer-baby-giraffe/).There’s also Gibson to consider, be interesting to see what they do with him.
let’s hope he doesn’t turn into Peter Clark Mk II
.....very composed and a great size, especially when he grows into his frame. Not rapid but mobile enough.
He needs to learn how to defend, that will be his key development over the coming years but he will get that playing and training with seasoned professionals as well as being coached at this level.
We need to accept he’ll make defensive mistakes but already he looks a decent signing. The strategy of buying promising youngsters is a success, it’s low risk and high reward.
Delivers more milkA proper unit isn't he. Wonder how he compares to Distin.
