Good to see him sticking up for himself when Warnock started laying in to him at half time. Young lad makes a mistake and catches his player and it’s the worst thing ever. Whereas Warnock has yard dogs like that Joe Ralls going out trying to do other players every week and they are just ‘good honest pros’
I’m not that well up on the rules , but I thought retrospective action only applied if the officials missed an action like a sly elbow or kick , or they were conned like in a player diving. The ref couldn’t have missed that just his interpretation of it wasn’t a penalty or red , just like with Pickford.
You have to say, after a poor first 20 mins he got better and had a pretty decent 2nd half, shows good maturity that he didn’t let it get to him.
It can be done for serious foul play that's missed on the pitch. Branthwaite there is basically the definition of serious foul play in the FA rulebook.
