Was a shocker of a challenge to be fair, accident or not. Good learning curve for him though, should never have been leading with his boot there.

We can thank the heavens that didn't happen in the Prem against the RS or the other media darlings, would've been facing the jury on attempted murder charges.

Thats a shocking challange. If that was against our lad, we would all be raging in here.

What makes it worse for me, is he doesn't even seem sorry at all, he looks to be laughing it off.

The lad he did it on, is also a very young and very highly rated centre back, damn shame that, hope he recovers quick.
Do you want him to be on his knees offering a grovelling apology to an old man hurling abuse at him (an 18 year old) because he accidentally kicked someone playing football?

Complete accident, these things happen. I’m sure he’s very sorry for the damage inflicted on the player, but he doesn’t have to be sorry to that little gremlin screaming at him.

100% accidental. Pretty daft to try that in his own box, but it's the kind of mistake you'd expect an 18 year old to make and is precisely why he's out on loan, making those mistakes for Blackburn and not us.

Warnock is just being Warnock and trying to rattle Branthwaite to put him off his game as he knows he's 18 and doesn't care what kind of effect it has on the kid as long as it's negative. I'm assuming the "ashamed" comment came at half time.

This is coming from the manager that sparked "the battle of Bramall Lane" by sending on a player he had no intention of playing for any other reason against West Brom with the instruction to "do" a West Brom player who'd (accidentally) injured one of his earlier in the season. The player went on and tried to break Andy Johnson's leg and it was a miracle he didn't. The game ended up being abandoned as Warnock's team ended up with too few players on the pitch to complete it.

But yeah, Branthwaite should be ashamed.

Foot 6ft in the air, in the box ?? Its dangerous, and stupid.

If that was against him, this whole site would be up in arms.

He is a professional footballer and he should know the laws of the game, there is no reason whatsoever he should be kicking his leg that high in the air it's not the bloody can-can mate accident or not.
Forwards do daft overhead kicks all the time. So there are multiple instances when feet go up to head height unpunished.

Yeah it was a daft challenge, but Warnock is just upset he lost.

Interesting debate this , accident or dangerous and stupid.

Not sure how much you've seen of the incident.
Not for one moment does Branthwaite take his eye off the ball.
He is totally unaware of any other player and doing what every manager wants his defenders to do in them instance's.
Clear the danger first and formost.

Its a shame a player got hurt , but that is part and parcel of the game.
Is it any more dangerous than a full blooded over head kick ? ( Tim Cahill v Chelsea springs to mind )

The referee and his officials saw it for what it actually was.

Accident for me.
