I think this lad should be a starter every week, he looks composed and doesn’t seem to panic, something that can’t be coached. Hopefully FSW will start him now and build the defence around him.
Watched him in the U23s a few weeks ago and at that level he reminded me a little of Bobby Moore, showing both those qualities you mention. Obviously that's a much lower level, and with his league experience he's far too good to be playing in it, but at 19 there's lots of potential there. In the absence of Mina he deserves a run in the team.

Couldn’t agree more Mick.

…I suspect there’ll be no holding him back, Matey. Major issue might be if we sign another CB in January, as we know Benitez likes to play his own signings.

Not sure we’ve had many Cumbrians, perhaps Gary Stevens qualifies.
Stevens qualifies. Barrow is in Cumbria even if it has a Lancaster postcode. Funnily, my wife's family who are from the North east is somewhere related to Stevens (as I've heard the story several times, what with me being an everton fan and all).

Branthwaite has walked into the squad for Burnley now regardless of fitness of other players in my eyes. If he is dropped than Benitez is doing him a massive disservice.

Stevens does qualify, although as mentioned it is a Lancashire post code and when he was born the town was still officially in Lancashire. Barrow fans still sing about Lancashire rather than Cumbria :)

My Mum used to work with his Auntie and mentioned once that I was an Everton fan. A couple of weeks later, I received a load of programmes from the 80s and a couple of signed pictures.

Hopefully, Branthwaite can be, at least, half as good as Stevens was for us. If he is he can certainly have a good career at Everton.
