He's better than Godfrey imo, and both of them are better than Keane and Holgate. Just tell those latter two and keep the two younger lads alongside buying Coady and keeping Tarkowski. Obviously Mina is out of contract and leaving in a few months.

I’ve said before that he reminds me of De Ligt and he’s gone for mega money transfers.

Put him in alongside Coady / Tarkowski and he’ll learn quickly.

He’s the sort of player we want to be building the team around.

Truth. Which other academy player have Everton moved on, excluding Rooney, that have lit anything up or wish Everton had kept hold of?

Barkley, Kenny, Pennington, Lundstram, Ledson, Baningme, Rodwell.....

Garbutt too, a few more down the road that either played a game or were player of the year for the youth/U23 who are now playing down the leagues.

We need to try and keep him but tbh I wouldn't be surprised if the lad chose to go. With top European clubs allegedly after him why would he want to stay with us shower of ..... and play under a dysfunctional board in the Championship?
We will probably only get £20m. I know he only cost £1m but in this market he is probably worth £40m
Another likely desperate sale of a young lad with great potential from our floundering club

…I think we ‘bought’ Garbutt, not sure he counts as a true ‘Academy’ player. Robinson at Fulham is one having some success but there aren’t many that we release that go on to better things.

The strategy of buying young players like Branthwaite does seem a fruitful one given the likes of DCL, Stones, Holgate, Lookman etc.

Or we stay up, he plays next season. Then we sell him for mega money.

We did buy garbutt from Leeds I think

Robinson always a mystery to me. We tend to hang onto youngsters too long but sold this one when I thought he was worth a look (almost for his pace alone)

It does, long may it go on and hopefully we get luckier for some and they're better.

We bought Garbutt for 1m due to Bosman and whatever when he was 15 I believe from Leeds. None of the rest are our products - bought at 17-18 from lower league teams, Branthaiwate included, so realistically none of them are our academy players.

Jedi's the only true academy player and was also Championship level when we sold him to a Championship team, good on him for progressing though.
