I wouldn’t have loaned him out tbh, but I’m glad that he seems to be getting lots of football and doing well.

He was ahead of Keane, holgate and Mina for me in the pecking order and I would have started him with Tarkowski - I don’t think we needed coady.

A hell of a lot regarding who stays and who goes will depend on our league status come seasons end.

If we go down this lad will be cashed in on, sadly.

If he’s back in the squad next season, he starts for me.

Stop selling young, promising players. Or we will never become good, it’s as simple as that imo.
It can work if we are clever with the money we make. Keep in mind the season we sold Rooney, we got into the champions league. I agree it would be great to keep some promising young players but saying to completely "stop" seems irresponsible. Just my take.

What you’re saying does make sense, but we have spent terribly in general. I think we would be better trying to develop our young players. We normally replace them with players who aren’t as good, and cost more money. It’s hard for us to sign top level replacements, as they normally have more appealing alternatives. If we keep prospects, we might improve, and they might improve, and we can then sell for more in the future.

I'm of the opposite opinion. I think a loan was the only real option. One of the top teams in skillful league. He'll learn so much from this loan. If he was at Everton, with our current form, all the protest's etc it could of had a bad impact on his development.

I understand what you are saying, but think of it like this:
We've spent little to nothing on the youth player coming though. They become desired and anything we make is a profit. We then use that money to buy good player and/or reinvest in youth to ensure growth in the academy (resulting on more promising youth, hence more revenue or prospects). We shouldn't sell all our youth and I'm not saying we should sell branthwaite, but it can be smart to sell young players sometimes. Though i understand we don't want to sell all our young players

A lot depends on the player himself with two years left on his contract in the summer, but the plan really should be to give an extension with a bit of a pay increase, give him minutes next season and be prepared to sell in the next couple of seasons.

Obviously, in an ideal world the quality of the team would grow as Branthwaite does, but we usually don't.
