I would much rather have Delph in there but that isn't going to happen. Hilarious how every post on this page is give him when the exact same people will have the knives out by the international break if he plays the next few games and we are in the bottom half.

He should be eased into the team, sub appearances here and there but unfortunately I don't think that will happen.

Delph was a big loss on Saturday. He’s been one of the few players whose stood up in pre season.

You just don't get the time on the ball in the Premier League that you do in European Leagues

I'm sure Silva will work with him on that and the other players in the squad will help him out as well

Looks like he's going to be chucked in the deep end thanks to Schneiderlin being an absolute plum on the highest order, perhaps even alongside Davies if Gomes isn't fit in time

Getting rid of Besic, McCarthy and Joe Williams all in the same window not looking the brightest idea at the moment, especially when you take into account Delph's previous injury issues

Good luck to him anyway. I didn't really know anything about him before he came here and you can't really judge him on that performance on Saturday as he's probably trained with his team mates a mere handful of times and he's never played in England before. I've not seen many tearing into him thankfully, so at least the majority of our fan base hasn't quite lost their minds just yet. We might not see the best of Gbamin for a few months yet, if not longer, but I think most seem to realise that and I think he'll get time from the majority of the supporters

Besic isn’t premier league standard. McCarthy was injury prone like Delph and Williams hasn’t the experience. I guess that’s why we went in for Doucoure.

Hard to believe somebody could be so stupid about a player who came back to training late, then had to deal with the transfer, move country, meet new teammates and then get thrown onto the pitch when clearly not ready.

I suppose I would ask the question of the manager why he didn't bring Tom Davies on first.
 
Few all know the Premier League is played at a furious pace and you get shut down all over the pitch. I can only imagine what it must be like for a player coming from a European league were if you drop back you have time to turn and look up. That is apart from getting used to new players around you and a new system. This lad will need time, it is not his fault Gomes and Delph got injuries and "half a head" Snides got himself sent off.
He is not the cause of our present problem. Give him a chance to settle in and adapt.
If anyone deserves to feel the wrath of the fan base at the minute it is Snides. He knew Gomes was off and he knew Delph was already injuries, it was 0-0 away from home, he was on a yellow and he sticks his foot in for a nothing ball. If he had just bottled the player up there was no real danger.

I’m sure in hindsight he wouldn’t have done it, but if he thinks Gbamin is the better player and he’d trained ok, it’s not that strange a decision. Some players hit the ground running and some don’t, it’s just one of those things.
