Very harsh in the lad.

Now before I go on I'd like to tell you all about this post sponsor -[COMPANY NAME REMOVED] which is a really great online learning community. They've got classes on everything like video post production, typing, football history. If you click the link below and mention Death you will get the first two months free.

He looked decent at times just needs a few games. And that tackle on Benteke phoooar.

It's going to take time for him to adapt to the league

Getting rid of Besic, McCarthy and Joe Williams all in the same window not looking the brightest idea at the moment, especially when you take into account Delph's previous injury issues

I've seen this a few times, but he's only missed 10 games in the last 3 years, which I'd imagine is pretty standard. He had that nasty hamstring one in 2016 but other than that not a lot recently.

You just don't get the time on the ball in the Premier League that you do in European Leagues

I'm sure Silva will work with him on that and the other players in the squad will help him out as well

Looks like he's going to be chucked in the deep end thanks to Schneiderlin being an absolute plum on the highest order, perhaps even alongside Davies if Gomes isn't fit in time

Good luck to him anyway. I didn't really know anything about him before he came here and you can't really judge him on that performance on Saturday as he's probably trained with his team mates a mere handful of times and he's never played in England before. I've not seen many tearing into him thankfully, so at least the majority of our fan base hasn't quite lost their minds just yet. We might not see the best of Gbamin for a few months yet, if not longer, but I think most seem to realise that and I think he'll get time from the majority of the supporters

....I think Besic and McCarthy had to be moved on when there was an opportunity to do so.

He needed a teammate to get hold of him on Saturday, and tell him to give it quick and simple until he was up to speed. Unfortunately, though, the senior player who should have been looking after him decided to go for an early shower instead.

Looks like it's going to be a baptism of fire for this lad, judging by the injuries and suspensions in midfield.

I think the confusion comes from last season. He only played 700 mins of prem football, so ppl presume it was due to injury.

Since his move to City, he has missed 56 games through injury.

Very encouraging post match reaction from him based on today’s media quotes. He recognises he will have to play much faster in PL. Not using lack of preseason or time to adapt as an excuse. Knows it will be challenging initially but he is confident he will get to grips quickly. It is always a good sign when players don’t shy away from a tough performance and seem prepared to take accountability. I think this lad will be just fine. Let us get behind him and help him settle in as fast as possible.

Not up to the standard and made no contribution to the team for like 3 or 4 years. Similar to saying we should not let Penno go as we have three cb.

The kid got caught a couple of times on his first ever performance in English football away against the yarddogs in the palace midfield. Other than that he looked strong, progressive and confident.

His main problem will be though that he’s not an utter crab like most of the midfielders we’ve had the last 5 years so will be getting booed off the second he tries any sort of forward ball for us. God forbid he actually got his foot on the ball and tried to make a bit of play in the midfield. Maybe he should just do what every other midfielder we’ve had before Gomes did and underhit it sideways to our right back who also can’t craft a pass.

He sounds shell shock with the pace of this league. Seems like nobody tells him what to expect and certainly our training is so soft paced and couldn’t introduce him to the pace and intensity needed for the real game.

Hope he gets a great reception at Goodison. Will make matters infinately worse if people start getting on his back in his first home appearence.
They won't though. Contrary to popular online belief that very rarely happens. The likes of Klaassen and Sandro were still getting good receptions for us in their final appearances, despite having been nothing but awful in every game they played. Niasse is one of the worst players I've ever seen at this level and he's a proper crowd favourite. Look like you're trying and most fans at the games will get behind you.
