There’s an odd glee some have when writing him off so quickly. Maybe it’s another boost in for the anti Brands brigade, but I don’t get why anyone would want the player to be finished so we can get rid. He’ll probably play before the end of this season and then he’ll hopefully be playing next season. We can’t sell him as no one would buy him and if we just ‘get rid’ then we have to go and spend on a replacement when no one knows how good he is or not.
I'd love nothing more than him to get back to full fitness and be the mobile aggressive force in midfield we arguably really need as an alternative / support for Doucoure and Allan. I'm just naturally pessimistic.

Madness after two serious muscle injuries to have him in full training in the colder months of the year. Any sensible medical team wouldn't consider anything before June/July at the earliest.(but then they did get Bolasie to try running off an ACL)

I said we should keep him out till next season and I stand by that.

I'd have no issue with that. Even if they have him on the bench when its safe for him to do so, and if we get a game where we are 2/3 up with 5mins to go, give him a run out, get his head back in it, back used to it. No need to rush him in. If we can slowly build his confidence up towards the end of season, get him mentally ready for pre-season and maybe hit the ground running next season.

He will need a couple of run outs for the U23s because it will have been over 18 months out. No harm in leaving him out of first team matches until pre season but would be good for him to even be around first team training for a period and get some game time in the U23s.

Well isn't that what pre-season games are for anyway.

The more unlikely it is that he plays again at this level, the more I start to worry about his mental health. Hope he's doing ok.
Agree but hopefully he is training with the lads now. Which hopefully has givennhim a boost mentally, have to be really careful with him. Be shocked if we dont see him for the u23 at some point this season
