Something else will go next hamstring maybe. He will also have niggles for about 6 weeks at least whilst back in the first team set up until hes fully match fit if he gets there at all.

It's becoming more and more difficult to stave off the notion that he could very well be the answer for that 'midfield 3'. His profile, on paper, would fit almost perfectly for a no. 6 role in that 4-3-3 alongside Allan & Doucoure. In theory it would provide a lot more flexibility as he's reasonably quick, can switch the ball and is certainly better at defending than Gomes.

Problem is that thigh injury could very well have done a number on him in terms of being able to burst forward/get around the pitch.

I would be signing another CM in January regardless as it will take him a few months to get upto full speed thats taking into account he'll likely pick up niggles as most players do when coming back from long term injury.

We need to start asking the question why all the numerous midfielders we have bought keep failing before just buying another one. I struggle to believe that once Gbamin is back, a competent midfield can’t be created from Allan Doucoure Gbamin Gomes Delph. If these were all fit and playing well and we still had a gap then yes I’d say let’s spend more money, but every window we’re buying midfielders and the midfield performance isn’t getting much better. No point buying another one if they immediately become slow and nervous on the ball. The decline in Docuoure’s performance level from the start of the season to now is worrying, and the same is true for Gomes. Currently it’s only Allan who seems to be able to retain his performance level.

Fingers crossed you're right mate because we don't actually know what type of player he is going to be for us.

This guy is some player since he's been injured , I'm expecting zidane mixed with Vieira as a base level for his play.
Don't think anyone is suggesting that. I'm just saying that he could potentially be the piece in that midfield that we've needed based on his profile alone. In the only 90 minutes he played for us (1-0 vs Watford last year) he showed encouraging signs.
