Jelavic - half season hero?

He hasnt had a great deal of service mate, but the scraps he has had, he hasnt really made the most of.

I do agree with you in a way, but hes not dropping his head, hes still making runs and looking busy, he just looks a touch off, but hes still slotting.

Defo Goat

He just looks that yard to slow

But lets be honest hes like a breath of fresh air comp to Beckford/Saha/Vic

He is sheer class. I don't think he's 100% in top form but he is still knocking them in and causing opposition defences a lot of headaches. He drifted out wide quite a lot today, happy to let Mirallis take up the main attacking threat.

I've not read through the thread much so this may have been mentioned before...but I think he's only looked bad because of our tactics at certain times.

When we play on the floor, he's lethal. Not so much when plan A is hit Fellaini, get it out wide and cross into the box,or just play down the wings and cross into the box, and this is how we play quite often. But It's not just him who suffers, it negates much of our goal scoring threat in general when the opposition pack the box with big tall defenders like today., it's the trap we fall into when you have a big man like Fellaini or an 'aerial threat' like Cahill playing up front. It's why Saha stuggled last year and is why jelavic isn't hitting full potential this year - it's all about Fellaini but at the expense of proper service to the actual striker. Sometimes it works, but when it gets sussed out you're in trouble.

Luckily today moyes sorted it as shown by our goals coming when the ball was played on the floor after the tactical sub that sent Fellaini back...but many of the draws I think came from over reliance on crosses. Hopefully Mirallas is back soon as him being injured compounds the problem because without him it's all on pienaar's shoulders

And I forgot to say I agree he's been brilliant in drifting wide, coming back to pick up the ball etc. a real team player even when not getting the service. That's where Saha etc failed as they sulked in similar situations

So glad he had a goal today which was important for him because he was poor again.

He is trying though, he'll be back to boss slotting soon enough.

Is it any Suprise that FELLIANI is getting amongst it and jelavic isn't, the long balls Steven Gerrard mentioned?

Hmm

Not been the same since he "Hit the post" against Newcastle. You wonder whether he is 100% fit, goal could do wonders for him now though.
