2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

not judging any of our attackers under dyche. since moyes came in he’s been great, apart from today

not blaming o’brien cos he’s been great too but it’s a huge hindrance when your full back can’t overlap or support you
Make your mind up, he’s been great O’Brien has been great but he’s also a huge hindrance playing the same system since Moyes come in, has he been great or not? I don’t think he’s a great player will look better under Moyes as they all do but still not good enough in my opinion anyway.

…but he was poor, Matey, that’s why he got withdrawn. You have to say it as you see it, the lad seems far from a whipping boy to me but he will draw criticism when he fails to perform.

I think he’s better than Harrison but if that’s the extent of the discussion, surely we can send them both back and spend the monies on better elsewhere.

You think he got taken off for being poor? Whilst Gueye, Tarkowski, Young got left on?

Why did he get taken off around same time v spurs btw?

Whipping boy, ok mate, if you during that first half decided the one player you'd decide to criticise was Lindstrom like sine did, then yeah that posters having a distinct agenda against Saudi player. Because there were 7-8 worse in the field

If you don't agree fair enough, as an aside Ndiaye was terrible first half but not one negative comment in his thread.

People set positions, sone of them seem very much negative or wanting to criticise.

Had one poster say results like these are due to Lindstrom, a fair assesment given the lad never criticised Tarks?
.

Do you think he was one of the worst three in the team before he was subbed?

Personally I don’t. And I think he was markedly better from ht until he got hooked.

However, unless Napoli are willing to do a deal at £15m or under, I think we wish him well and find someone else.

…sorry, but that’s a bit of a nonsense statement.

A manager doesn’t ask his coaches for a vote on the 3 worst players before making substitutions, they chat about how best we can get back into the match. The substitution of Lindstrom for Harrison clearly made a difference and that’s what the Manager is attempting to do when he introduces a substitute.

I’m asking for your opinion, not David Moyes’ - if you think asking for your opinion is nonsense, then no problem

Harrison made a huge difference when he came on so I think you’d have to say the sub was the right call to be honest.
Agreed.

I wasn’t shocked - I also wouldn’t have been shocked if young, tarkowski, Gana, Beto had been hooked at half time TBH.

I do think he’s a whipping boy for a few, primarily because of how he played under Dyche.

It would have been better for him with that cohort of fans if he’d have been entirely frozen out like O’Brien had been.

…with Ndiaye i always feel something might happen when he gets possession. I’d be certain he was highlighted in opposition tactical talks ahead of the game. I just don’t see that threat with Lindstrom. In the first half he received the ball in space in the top third, Beto was central in the box between the CBs and Lindstrom cross nearly hit the corner flag on the opposite flank.

Managers are reluctant to bring players like Ndiaye off when they need a goal regardless of how they’re playing because they know the quality is there. It’s not a competition to take the poorest performers off, it’s about giving the team the best chance of getting back in the game.

I actually think Lindstrom is popular, fans want him to do well but he’s just not carrying much threat for us to this point. We’re in a position where you couldn’t guarantee he starts the next game.

he’s beens starting them all

He was poor, he's been good of late, he was poor under Dyche. He's not a consistent player or else we wouldn't be picking him up on loan, only the unwanted get loaned out. It is what it is, but I hope we see more of his recent form because there's something about him when he's on.

Ok mate, who'd you start against the rs? Harrison? Or Lindstrom?

Again he's not carrying much threat, he's playing as a hybrid FB, I know you like Doucoure but have you for a moment thought that having a Donkey at number ten may effect players around him?

Yeah fair enough we may not sign him and sign a Gnoto for 25m mate, pretty sure you aren't gonna be happy

…fingers crossed, it’s been a bit like Groundhog Day with Lindstrom and Harrison. I’d hoped Lindstrom would kick-on.

Who played well today mate? Honestly? Why focus in on a player who was far from the worst?

Btw two goals amongst came directly past Harrison, but he did hit a couple of decent balls...
