2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

Can you expand on this, because I am really struggling to understand how people form opinions like this on players who've played about 3 matches worth of minutes for the club.

Not trying to stir the pot by the way. I'm genuinely curious because I saw this kind of opinion by a couple in the match thread and I'm baffled by it.

I feel he’s light mate, I think he’s off the pace of it and I think he doesn’t have the natural atlethisim to impact at this level, he struggled to link, he struggled in transition and felt he struggled to carry the ball. His distribution was just always an bit off, he didn’t look composed and then there was the chances he had.

He had some nice and tidy moments were he contributed.

I hope it’s an adjustment to the league, but doesn’t seem like a 20 - 30 mill footballer to me.

I’m open minded though.

Hopefully I’m wrong.

It was a mixed bag for sure. I actually disagree on the athleticism part- he is certainly not lacking on pace. But he is lightweight and with his sleight frame probably wouldn’t be able to get much bigger (should probably invest in heavy core training instead). He certainly finds himself on the end of BIG chances more than any other player though and that isn’t a coincidence. His movement has been a level above the rest. Needs to do 196 straight hours of training for the final 3rd.

Like I say mate, I’m open minded, want him to be boss, just haven’t seen it to the point where he becomes a starter/big player for us for the reasons mentioned. Maybe he’s adjusting.

Hoping I’m wrong.

Not everyone has to be an ox like Doucoure mate.

Erekson, Modric and many other tore up this league without being physical

About being a bit off, yup I agree, but the lad played less than 200 minutes of league footy last season. I'd expect both rust and lack of confidence.

I likened him to Gordon mate, and we saw the result of once it clicked at Newcastle for that lad

If a choice between Harrison & Lindstrom then Lindstrom 100%
We might but doubtful see him in his natural position as no.10
I was impressed with him today and think he made us look more of a team and more of a threat. More games is what he needs

He is already better than this guy - the only player he is competing with

He helps us to play joined up football up top far more than Harrison does, well that's what I'm seeing anyway, he needs to score, nice to see him getting in position to score, but if like him to start bagging.
