2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

Was really hoping he would come good, but too lightweight. Reminds me of Bernard. Unable to kick the ball far / hard enough. Was happy to see Harrison come on, instead of him. But then Harrison reminded me why he's better on the bench. No idea what we do about the right side

Bernard showed a lot more than what we've had from Lindstrom. I don't even think a change of manager is going to help in this case - he just looks really poor.

I think it’s unfair to judge any of the attacking players under this manager and coaching team. It’s clear that they are told to concentrate on helping their fullback defend before anything else and absolutely no attacking play is coached whatsoever

Was pretty bad for Napoli last season by all accounts too though.

Look at someone like Ndiaye. I would say he isn't playing well right now but I'd argue he's showing enough to suggest there's a lot of potential there. That's just not the case with Lindstrom.

Ah yes, playing from the right. Let’s put him there in a team that’s setup not to concede a goal before anything else.
Jack Harrison was predominantly a left winger before Dyche got hold of him as well, he’s been almost exclusively played on the right as well. Dwight McNeil having to play every minute of every game, mostly at number 10 where we now have 2 players who excelled in that position, regardless of form or fitness is clearly not helping other players either.

I used to really like Bernard, seemed like a lovely chap. But he was far too lightweight and although he had his moments, he never really did anything (or maybe, he wasn't given the chance, dunno).

With Lindstrom he doesn't look the sort of player to take a game by the scruff of the neck and change it, like Ndaiye (?). Maybe in a good team he would work well - we're clearly mince at the moment - but I can't see it, or which position he'd really be best in. Needs to get on the 'roids like Patterson

As a club we seem to get very bogged down with the idea our players are going to transform their output with changes in their position.

I've seen very little to suggest Lindstrom would play well in any of the forward positions. Left, right or centre, he'd still lack strength and just the general ability to create anything worthwhile.

New league, awful tactics and manager, playing in a position he’s already bombed in and not once tried at number 10 where he won a Europa league and got a big money move.
Good job we are scoring loads of goals with McNeil (you know Dwight who had never played in that position before in his entire career) there, no point in changing or trying anything different

there is a lot in what you say but putting players in positions they have proven to succeed more often than not isn’t even being tried under this negative fraud. It wasn’t long ago he put Jack Harrison on at number 10 with Lindstrom still on the pitch.

back to Harrison it is then. We are so blessed with such a talented squad
I hate Harrison but he played ok for Leeds on the left, has he ever played there for Everton? It’s beyond farcical that a coaching team who have scored 12 goals from open play from the last 32 games haven’t even tried playing players in positions they are familiar with. The managerial obsession and blatant favouritism with McNeil is doing far more harm than good this season

McNeil has shown nothing as a #10, decoure has stunk the place out, Ndiaye may do good as a #10, hey, he even haas it on his shirt, its almost like a sign...

Won't write a new player off when he's an attacking central player whose getting played as a defensive wingback almost under the anti football Dyche.

Get Dyche gone, get a new manager in like Potter then judge the lad when he's being played in an actual football team.

- Kevin we need a goalscoring winger.

I’ve found just the man.

- Great, is he a winger?

Nope.

- does he score goals?

Nope.

- Ok well let’s just bring him in anyway.

I’ve got about 25p, a half scratched scratch card and some goodwill from a few years back, I’ve got just the man.

The fella has his hands tied behind his back, he wanted several players before Lindstrom - clearly.

Yeah i’d be more inclined to believe that a change of position would ignite his time here if he’d shown any glimpses of ability so far. Playing out of position means you might not show your very best level, it doesn’t mean that you completely lose the ability to produce anything at all.
