It's just nice to see a goalkeeper that isn't constantly screaming, shouting and waving his arms around to be honest. Pickford is a top keeper, one of the best in the league, but his character leaves a lot to be desired imo.

not sure it's getting carried away.
We'll likely have to sell our best players and wont have the funds to replace them with players of a similar standard.
I think it's reasonable to look at the pack up keeper performing well and think thats an option.

I cannot see anyone coming in for JP, just not sure he fits anywhere else and likely will stay in the madhouse.

But agree that if JV keeps up these performances (2 games on the bounce with the next bein a cup game again), if we were ever to get money for one of our few sellable assets we can hope that we have a half decent back up to step in.

Only just turned 24 also..

Well played Joao Virginia, made a few decent saves yesterday and kept another clean sheet without any histrionics. He'll be a happy chappy with that.

The only thing I take from these last two performances is that we aren't totally screwed if, gasp, something were to happen to Pickford.

You need to have a capable backup keeper in the premier league and it appears we might have one

Just saw those highlights from last night, some good saves, good decision making and looks cool under pressure!

Hope he gets to keep playing in the cup, he’s earned the next round, but Pickford is our best player and the main reason we’re still in the premier league.
