The boy needs a minimum of a full season to prove himself.

De Gea took three seasons playing every week.
Butland needed two years playing football.
Courteous the same.

Talk of ten games required is nonsense.

A minimum of a full season plus ideally a decent young / backup keeper to keep him on his toes.

I'm not comparing him to Howard, though. I've already said I don't think Howard needs to start again for us. I'm comparing him to the theoretical goalkeeper we're going to sign this summer. A clean sheet against Newcastle is great, but it isn't anywhere near enough to convince me we don't still need to spend most of the summer's budget on bringing in a top goalkeeper.

Thats why he needs a settled run in the side to see, let him finish the season as number 1
 
Last season: "I'll keep net instead of Joel, can't be that hard if he can do it."
"Terrified at the prospect of Joel playing in the derby though, need a new keeper."
"Then I realized Joel will be in goal and we'll lose by at least 3."

Look at changys video pathetic keeping by Timmy - I will give you 4 points in two games off the top of my head The Derby at home fails to collect a corner 3 ft off his line , and the Chelsea match away where he bottled it and went walk about for their first goal! There's 4 points in just two games!

Arsenal away - Awful performance, lying under crosses
City home - Very easy goals conceded, again
West Brom away - Nearly caught out because he can't command his box
Liverpool home - Very very poor for their goal
Bournemouth away - No words needed
Norwich away - Same again
Palace home - Awful
Leicester home - Awful for their goals
Stoke home - Falling under Joselu's shot
Swansea home - Cause of the penalty, should have been sent off

There's 9/10 games and that's being kind. There's game he could have done a lot better in that haven't been mentioned. Somebody looked it up a few weeks into the season, he'd been the cause for 13 of the last 15 goals up until that point.
