utter rubbish did you see the sky analysis by one of the best free kick takers Thierry Henry he stated Robles did well to get near it if he had saved that it would have been save of the season!
just blame a keeper never heard you slate the Stek when he went walk about to give Unt a point at home that was awful keeping!
Not seen the analysis as I was at the game, and imo his positioning was gash and he should have saved it.

Your wrong then I appreciate you were there even I was disappointed with him only getting a hand to it till the sky analysis he had no chance if you view it from behind Snodgrasses boot it was a great bender of a free kick Robles nearly hit the post with his body it bent back in 2-3 feet with pace save of the season if he had saved an impossible free kick whipped in with bend and venom quote Theriey Henry a Grea free kick master!
As a team you try not to give free kicks like that away the ref did not help us as we should have had to clear pens too!

After he had a run I will give my thoughts on him never stated he was ideal , but the best we have ATM!
Watch the Stek return v Southampton with his dead leg and dodgy knees!
Robles needed a run last year when Timmy was crap yet undropable the we would have known for Deffo we needed a top keeper the problems in the outfield players is even more worriying imo
Meaning we seem to need to spend big money there may be a starlet keeper in the lower leagues, like another big Nev ?
RK team selections seem to be mind boggling too ATM!
He's had plenty of chances and I've been there for all his home appearances and most of his away ones (and friendlies),and not once have I walked away thinking there was any possibility of him becoming a quality goalie capable of performing in a World Cup final (as Stekelenburg has by the way). By now you should see something but I see no potential whatsoever . He is not top six PL quality and never will be. Shame as he seems a decent lad.

Chances but never a run in the team when Timmy was making error after error!
In and out is not a run imo!
The Stek started off well the at the age of 34 yrs old you can see why he flopped st Southampton, and laudably Fulham - their fans forgot he was still on their books!

It's the nature of the job , when you get the chance you have to show something special or the opportunity will pass you by. Stekelenburg is far from perfect but he has been good enough to play at the highest level, his performance at Man. C. this season was sublime and showed what he is still capable of. Robles would never have come close to that performance and we'd have been a point worse off. At the end of the day neither is perfect , but I'd prefer the experience of World Cup final playing Dutchman despite his foibles, to Robles.
