My only question and it probably came from the bench. Why hoof ball and give the ball straight back. It just didn't make any sense it was just a matter of time putting our defense under so much pressure. Lukaku and Lewin couldn't get the ball and when they did promptly lost it.

he did well running the clock down, we just didn't have anyone out there for him to go to. That is why we're so bad at these sort of games though, this squad and club as a whole has not seen us not be in this position too much and they don't know what to do, there's no calming influence there from anyone to just put their foot on the ball under pressure and slow the game down, we've done it for years, constantly hoofed it anywhere and stood back and hoped to defend the game until the end. This is why we need to buy the right characters, it's more than just buying footballing ability.

Had a really good game, save from
Herrera in the first half was brilliant and the one when 1-1 with rashford given offside. Came for crosses and distribution was generally good. Have to admit I have developed a bit of a soft spot for the big lump now and has been very consistent for us.

Got to admit, most of those 'great saves' were routine saves for any decent keeper - Had either the free kick or the long range shot from Herrera gone in they would have been howlers from the keeper.

And WTF was he doing on the penalty? It was like Origis goal all over again

Agree with that. I believe Schneiderlin would of helped us play the game out more and take more pressure off the Excellent back 4 & Goalkeeper yesterday.
Now i dont rate the lad at all but a Shane Long type of striker in those type of situations would of helped also. Someone to chase everything, run the ball into the corner and just generally aggravate the other team, just narking at them and wasting time.
Rom for all his fantastic attributes is not that type of player, was to concerned about having a whinge to Pogba about his crap team mates

agree, calvert lewin was the wrong choice, but the alternate options are hardly great. I would have gone with valencia instead, bit more experience and nous which brings a bit more calmness, but hey, it's done now. We do need a 3rd striker a bit like that who will run their socks off at the end of games though, agreed.

Moved early and made it easy for Zlatan.

Just like he did for every penno in the West Ham replay

I am a big fan of Joel but I think he is hopeless when facing penalties.
We still had a sub to make. I'd have brought Stek on to face it. Now we know he can save a penalty. Imagine the scenes if RK did that and Stek saved it.:)
