Joel Robles

He had a great game yesterday after looking shoddy vs Liverpool.

I'm keeping an open mind on him. His overall record is good but in some games he messes up.

I think he's shown he's good enough to not push getting a keeper as a number one priority. I'd prefer most of our money to be spent on attacking players with the addition of at least one CB.

Not forgiven him for Saturday.
I saw it differently mate. I know it's only opinions but I don't think he had a chance with the first 2, but sold himself for the 3rd and should take the blame for that. The defence were very poor of front of him at the weekend though, in fact the whole team were.

Thought last night he played well. He made some good saves and was dominant when we came under pressure in the second half, apart from one poor punch when challenged by Ibrahimovic. I've seen people on here criticise him for the penalty. FFS.

He's improved fantastically as an all round keeper over the last 18 months in my opinion. He isn't top class, and I don't think his shot stopping prowess will ever put him in that bracket, but for where we are now I don't think we'll be able to bring in somebody experienced who is significantly better. I think we need to look at some younger keepers, like Man Utd and Chelsea did few year ago, who could become top keepers, who can take over from him in a season or 2.

He's ok as a number 2 but has failed too often in the big moments. We need a keeper who will win us big games not throw them. Anfield Derby is always a acid test of a player, who can stand the heat and who can't. He can't. It's no coincidence for me that his worst games this season were Liverpool home and away and Spurs away.

Spurs game I'll give you. But I think that, coupled with the game against Sunderland at the end of last season, have been the only poor games Joel has played since he replaced Howard in the team. As I said, I don't believe his game against Liverpool was as bad as you do.

Who do you think we can bring in who can fit in now and do a better job than Robles? I agree that we need a new number 1 if we are to compete regularly for CL places.

Agree with that. I believe Schneiderlin would of helped us play the game out more and take more pressure off the Excellent back 4 & Goalkeeper yesterday.
Now i dont rate the lad at all but a Shane Long type of striker in those type of situations would of helped also. Someone to chase everything, run the ball into the corner and just generally aggravate the other team, just narking at them and wasting time.
Rom for all his fantastic attributes is not that type of player, was to concerned about having a whinge to Pogba about his crap team mates
we had Lookman on the bench and Delboy out on loan they would have helped!
RK got the subs wrong - he got it right in keeping the faith with robles who proved the doom mongers about him on here wrong two class saves in the first half!

Have you forgiven the rest of the team ,and our manager?

Not really no ha. Robles' was such a major fail though. At least outfield there's some excuse in a dip in form like formation or tactics don't suit, but Robles went from one of the top keepers in the league to letting in shots in the middle of his goal. No one exemplified the choker syndrome more than him.

He was left exposed by what you posted they were shooting in with ease with that poor formation you mention!

They were hardly peppering us, they didn't have that many chances. He was wrong position for the first and the third was woeful, but he did the same v Kane didn't he and also in the Goodison Derby going down in instalments for Sturridge's pea roller. Big games, big moments, he came up short.

They had free access to our goal with our formation just because they played in red our defence had no need to part like the Red Sea?
Having free shots with very little closing down the third goal yes he should have attepted to save it - last night what a difference when he could see the shots coming two great saves!
