Joel Robles

Think yesterday could be the last time we see Robles in an Everton shirt. Would'nt be surprised to see Steklenburg back against West Ham.

Koeman sure wasn't impressed by Joel against Burnley in the post-match interview. Who knows, Stek might return. Defensively we have shapen up better since the winter but it could also come from the presence of Joel. The clean sheets started to come as soon as Joel returned.

For the short term (this season) Joel has worked fine. But for the future I'm not convinced he's the man. As the article pointed out, he makes comfortable saves look more difficult than what they are. He gathers crosses and makes some fine saves, but he also spills balls and positioning costs him at times. He's good enough for where we are right now but when ambitions are even higher I'd think he'd be found out.

Joel is the worse goal keeper at the club, he is a flat track bully. Best in the world at getting clean sheets v hull at home.
Put Pickford who is stopping Sunderland being smacked 5-0 every game into this team and he'd be challenging LLoris for clean sheet record

He's come a long way from his hardline stance on only punching the ball, which was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Still has some ways to go. We should keep him but definitely not as a number one.

Could be a decent option in Europe next season like. ;)

He's been awful this season, shown up for what he is bang average.

Compared to when he was under Koeman and had a great defence in front of him, now he has Yoshida and he is exposed. VVD and Fonte helped him big time along with Wanyama.

We should go for Timo Horn, I watched him in Olympics and he was quality, also Yann Sommer is top draw these are realistic signings

Pickford and Kasper Schmeichel are better than joel and we've been linked but we should go for a top draw GK

No there not, we just dont see them make mistakes apart from when they play us, both were useless against Everton. Schmeichel flat footed again last night watching a header float over and pretty much killing the tie. Pickford might develop into a top 6 keeper, but if we are to replace Joel we want someone who is a top 6 keeper now. Schmeichel will never be that, at his age he still makes far too many mistakes that if he was going to learn, he would of already.
Timo Horn is a proper shout

Conveniently missing out the pens against him in the CL that didn't go in? Or MOTM performance v Seville

End of the day I can list more mistakes than Joel has done v Stek and thats with a Koeman defence, if we managed to put a competent GK in between the sticks we'd get max 3 mistakes all season compared to Joels 3 in last 5 games

Been poor the last few weeks, I would continue to play him, stek has no long term future here, Robles may play through his bad spell, we could do with a top keeper but we could spend 18m on keeper who's no better.

Goalkeepers are an odd bunch, after watching the two Munich Madrid games, underwhelmed by Neuer, yet some still see him as the best in the world

The one thing I love about Koeman is that he's prepared to punish poor performance and not stick to liabilities. Except when it came to Bolasie for some reason, but oh well.

Well done Koeman - delighted Robles has been dropped. That conceded pen was unforgivably stupid.
