Joel Robles 4
Did his utmost to ensure Koeman signs a new goalkeeper this summer. Shaky under high balls and shocking to concede a blatant penalty when Sam Vokes was running AWAY from goal.

First sentence is basically his Everton career

Bad goals conceded or mistakes made by each keeper for me are -

Stekkers
wba away - not strong enough on cross
boro home - not strong enough on cross
Burnley away - 1st goal
Chelsea away - first 2 goals
utd home - running off his line like a tit

Joel
rs home - harsh imo but general consensus is he should have got across his line quicker
Bournemouth- 3rd goal bad positioning
Spurs away - 1st goal diving at fresh air
rs away - 3rd goal awful positioning
Leicester- 2nd goal
Burnley - gives away penalty

So for crap goals/mistakes leading to goals they are at 6-6 in the battle for crapness. The problem for Joel is his last 4 mistakes have come in the last 5 games so he's on an upward crapness trend.

Final verdict - unfortunately both too crap to be considered number 1 material. I thought Joel had looked far superior up until the last few weeks where he's started drinking cups of crap with Stekkers at lunchtime.

This. I wonder where will we buy our first choice keeper. I guess Koeman and Walsh will buy from PL again.

Heaton looked good yesterday. I was surprised he is 31, in his prime for a keeper. Frazer Forrster, would be a good choice too. I doubt we will sign either though. Joel should be dropped, he's had a few bad games recently, apart from United away.

My take on this is I'd much rather have Cortois, DeGea, Lloris or Forster, but I wouldn't swap him for Guardiola's pet project.

He's still young for a keeper. He's mostly solid & pulls off some great saves. Yes, he looks like he's got a mistake a game in him (sometimes two), but look at DeGea when he arrived at ManU.

David Seaman went through bad patches. Joe Hart is better, but older & still prone to brain farts.

I trust Koeman & his team to know potential when they see it (or not). I don't see Schmeicel or Hart as a significant step up. Maybe there's a top keeper somewhere, over 35 & available, who could come in next season. Give Robles time to develop. I'd hate to bin him off & see him turn out like DeGea somewhere else.

People still liking him to De Gea I see

Wow

Sat behind the goal yesterday few rows from the front. . Was in shock at what he did. Simple decision now to get 2 keepers in

Just seems to have an attitude about him, no interaction with the crowd, doesn't even clap to acknowledge the fans when he comes to the goal and doesn't seem to communicate with the team. Yesterday Ashley Williams on 3 different occasions had to ask/tell him about the wall or where to stand at corners.
Not a no.1 yet for me but does have potential - not sure how long his contract is but would definitely benefit from playing on loan somewhere.
Heaton is good but not big enough, Pickford didn't impress when at Goodison, maybe Forster or a Walsh gem yet to be revealed.
Not sure that Hart is the answer either.

Back up keeper. Not consistent enough but loves the club and has saved us a lot over the season.

Has mind melts though and if we want to push on we need a consistent keeper display every game.

People were saying he should be in the Spain squad a few weeks ago Lolz. Not good enough. That was such a crazy decision in the summer not to sign a decent goalkeeper. May have cost us the Champions League that dreadful summer window.

Is Degea dropped ATM?

Yes, but he has a very dedicated fan base who won't stand for him getting ANY criticism

You need to enter this thread with that firmly in mind
I a Joel fan on here supporter criticised him he had a rush of blood over that pen, dodgy on crosses yesterday the first half were instead of catching the ball abit in a swirling wind he palmed it to a standing defender, but even with a dodgy day we won our defence apart from Holgate was out paced why was fat bum Williams back?
We need a lot of areas in the team strengthening , but the keeper has been hammered on here when playing well so the posters who slate him licked their lips, yet since coming in at home Prem games he has only conceded 8 goals - looking at other keepers on MOTD they have major flaws in them , and would cost millions, and high wages too!
Maybe look to get a keeper who can push Robles to be better, and make the self better in the process as Stek is poor competition!
