Joel Robles

I think he's a good number 2, someone who you are going to worry about coming in here and there at all.

The need for a top class number 1 is huge

Summed up quite well there mate.

Agree on Pickford I think too.

Strange one, the Sunderland fans who i speak to that go the game rate Pickford really highly but quite a few people on here don't rate Pickford.

So, I've come to the conclusion that Everton fans as a whole can't have an opinion on keepers for the forseeable future.

This thread is the reason why. We have had Robles is in the top 3 keepers of the Premiership, he was better than De Gea at youth level, he should he called upto the Spain squad and his next move is to Real Madrid or Barca.

You all hyped him upto death, and i warned you all that you would turn on him in the end.

Pickford is funny though. He's clearly talented, it's more personal wish that we have a more experienced keeper for now.

Providing Maarten doesn't balls up between now and the end of the season, which is entirely possible, we may well have seen the last of Joel now.

Even if Stek does balls up, I think we have seen the last of him. I never got the feeling Koeman liked him and I can't imagine Joel will be happy being number 2 again, so I'd be surprised if he didn't move on.

It's harsh, I have to say. I'm not sure he was even right to drop him. He has been poor for a few weeks, but there's nothing to gain by playing Stek, who is old and has generally been rubbish. Watching him stick to his line for every cross or corner gave me flashbacks to Howard.

Ah well. Hopefully we can sign a keeper in the summer so good we don't have to debate the merits of Joel or Stek.

After scouring the globe for the perfect goalkeeper for Everton i've finally found him...in Bolivia. He comes for crosses and has an eye for goal. I don't need to see any more.

Bolivar goalkeeper, Matias Dituro:

sky soccer saturday last weekend stated Pickford and ben Foster have that many shots to save thats what make them look great - Robles it was just a lesson I feel do things like that stupid Burnley pen and you get dropped - lets see if The Stek plays v Chelsea on Sunday - lets see how he fairs v Costa and co they hit 4 last night v Southampton - fingers poised if any more than that go in on this thread!

Robles is gone, he wont be here next season.

Indeed.

Koeman showed much more patience with Stek than he has with Joel....and in fact would probably have never dropped him, it was injury which forced him out.

The unfair stick by a few on here who bang a drum on how bad Robles is even when his stats were up there in the top three in the Prem you give him more stick than Stek yet you claim you do not like both of them, but mention Robles in critiicsm more than Stek who never leaves his line unless he goes walk about like UNT at home !
This keeper was a crock st Fulham Southamptons 2nd string keeper, RK should have fetched in better than him imo - he started well I admit then the flaws were there to see imo he needs shipping out keep zrobles as back up and get a keeper in next season with Robles pushing him to keep good form up - we had an international Gordon West the manager then I'd Rankin the no 2 came in, and did well he kept his place Westy was at the time the most expensive keeper ever signed in then the football league, and that's how it should be - e.g. not he's our no 1 like Timmy for 2 seasons playing pants!
Undropable!!!!

But everyone thinks that neither are good enough mate. Literally everybody is expecting Stekelenburg to make a mistake sooner or later. And a fair few would be expecting Robles to if and when he comes back in.

What's the point in petty online point scoring when the fact is they're both crap?
